Honestly the "interview" is mostly a formality. They will ask you ALL of the questions on your application again. Aaaand, thats pretty much it, unless they found something you did not disclose or something you submitted was incomplete. I think mine lasted 10 minutes; I waited longer than that in the lobby. Frankly, at a minimum they should move to phone interviews, but they are really an unnecessary "gate" that doesn't have a purpose except to say that they "take licensing seriously and vet all applicants."

Oh, and obviously, bring all the documents they said to in the email.

Would someone please kindly direct me to more information on what to be prepared for ? I know its kinda like a job interview, I'm a professional. But still would like some tips for me to be better prepared.

PS: I want to get a 22 mag, more specifically a Beretta....
Local shop said they're not available in CA, but there may be a work around if I do a PPT through another state? Thanks in advance.

Yes, they will email "proceed to training", and just follow the email directions and send the docs again. this time they will print them for the file.

I had emailed them before and this was the response. "Please send these documents when you are authorized to continue to firearm training. The attachments will not be printed but your file has been noted."

6 weeks later I received the "proceed to training" email.

The only thing I would add is that many of the questions circle around and ask the same thing in a different way, this will often lead to us re-examining our answer and making a change/admission. The deputy will probably guide you on how best to clarify and add written notes.

This question has been going around lately, best advice is to go back in the forum and read through the posts.

When the deputy sends you an email, he/she sends you the instructions.

I submitted my training docs and live scan during the interview, I didn't receive a training interview and others i know who did training before the interview didn't receive a proceed to training email.

6/09/2021- app submitted
7/21/2021- check cashed and livescan done
2/09/2022- interview
7/11/2022- CCW unit emailed me for utility bill for final review, sent car registration bill.
7/12/2022- CCW unit called and said they needed an actual utility bill, car registration is not acceptable. she gave advice that you can add your name on the bill, internet, gas, electrical bill etc. so they can sign off. Been communicating promptly through email and phone within the past 24 hrs. Stated no deadline to submit but just turn in when I can.
