    For La county sheriffs what did you guys put down for your reason??? Is self defense an acceptable answer?

      Of course, per NYSRPA decision and per California AG it is the acceptable answer (and always has been). Imagine that it's a constitutional right. Everything has changed, they're there to help you going forward. Tell them politely that you're not there to take cess from them.

          The new ruling is probably going to make it worse for all the current CCW holders.... In NY they have already made so many restrictions on where you can carry and I am sure that CA will follow in their footsteps. We'll probably only be able to carry while walking down the street at this point and in the car lol.

            Probably not even then. Children can be present in the car and on the street

                Would someone please kindly direct me to more information on what to be prepared for ? I know its kinda like a job interview, I'm a professional. But still would like some tips for me to be better prepared.
                -------
                PS: I want to get a 22 mag, more specifically a Beretta....
                Local shop said they're not available in CA, but there may be a work around if I do a PPT through another state? Thanks in advance.

                Sincerely,

                  @Vfcre

                  Let me help you before you get thrown in jail or get scammed. You can't buy a gun in another state and bring it into CA unless you are moving from another state to CA. You can get an off roster gun in CA but PPT are marked up about 3x the guns MSRP. A off roster glock that's normally 500-600 is about 1200-2000 in CA

                        Hi again all,
                        Wanted to do a quick follow-up on my previous long post...Last week I finally received the call for pick-up! I think I must have missed the first one due to travel and may have even not picked up (facepalm) one of them due to the "No Caller ID." Knowing it was probably my fault, I waited the full 28 days to contact LASD via email to let them know that I was still interested and re-submitted my training and certificate dox just so they wouldn't have to go looking for them. In any case, tomorrow is the big day! It's been just over a year for the entire process and likely would have been only just shy of a year had me and my phone been more available...Anybody else picking up tomorrow?

                                training

                                Yes, they will email "proceed to training", and just follow the email directions and send the docs again. this time they will print them for the file.

                                I had emailed them before and this was the response. "Please send these documents when you are authorized to continue to firearm training. The attachments will not be printed but your file has been noted."

                                6 weeks later I received the "proceed to training" email.
