Suuuper noob question..
I've tried reading up but seriously this thread is like 100+ pages.
So I want to start the process am I understanding correctly that I start with the lapd and take my rejection to apply to lasd? If my risk is at work (la) but live in pasadena where everything is registered, where do I apply?

You should be able to apply to LASD if you live in Pasadena.

Anyone have any insights on modifications for their CCW? I have a full build Agency Arms that I'd like to put on the 3.

When I took training courses, I was told you are judged by a jury of your "peers". In California, that is a scary proposition. They may say you modified your gun to make it easier to kill someone etc. Just my opinion.

I called west covina PD and they told me they don't issue ccw and I have to go to LASD.

I am in West Covina, mailed it in on the 11th, and had an interview this morning. Just finished Live Scan.

Maybe cuz I dropped off my application in person instead of mailing it in.

AV said he might liberalize GC even more when that happens to allow more people to protect themselves. Any liberalization should take LA Co to at least Light Green. You LA Co folk should keep watching his virtual town halls to see if he says anything new about that.

I called in Jan. My date is middle of April
Wife called in about 4 weeks ago and her date is early May.

They only conduct interviews once a week for about 3-4 hours. Maybe this will have interviews twice a week.

They had to set up more dates given the backlog. The Detective called me back as he promised early Monday morning and offered me August 10th, which I accepted.

Is there any advantage to doing the application online or just bring it with me to the interview. I have a lot of time to complete it if I bring it in.

It will most likely go quicker if you mail the application in to the downtown L.A. address than it would be to take it to a local station. The CCW unit and the personnel making the decisions will most likely be located in downtown so you're just adding more time the process by giving the application to the local station.
