Called and spoke to a deputy who was very nice and actually looked at my file. Said she would give it to her lt. and to check back in a month.

1/25 Got a call from LASD saying I needed a more recent denial from LAPD (mine was from 2015)
4/14 LASD confirmed LAPD denial no longer required
4/26 Interview Scheduled for 5/6
4/29 Livescan submitted
5/6 Interview, was told to proceed to livescan & asked about LAPD application status
5/23 Livescan completed, notified LASD
6/3 CCW unit replied "We will contact you when we receive the report from DOJ. It can take 4-6 weeks from the 5/23/21 date to receive."
6/21 LAPD denial received and acknowledged by LASD CCW unit

I'm nearing four months after live scan clearing as well. Over six months now since mailing the application.

We are brothers lol.... I'll cross my fingers for the both of us.. Hang in there

Did anyone actually do their livescan before interview and can confirm if it speeds you up? Interview is on Friday and last I spoke to ccw unit they have all my docs from DOJ.

working on moving the process to online.

stating he spoke with LT this morning, wants to make the process more achievable but also wants to make it clear people disclose everything UP FRONT as they will find out through livescan.

Going by his facial expression and tone of voice I’d say he did not intend there to be any recent change in acceptable GC. It was merely a misunderstanding caused by delegation.

Remember as he’s been ramping up CCW issuance from virtually nothing he’s been dealing with all the rest a sheriff of 10M pop. county normally has to + once in a century pandemic + needless BS from the BoS + prosecutors who won’t prosecute!

Cut him some slack. For the first time EVER “little people” in LA Co can actually get a CCW.

That's great that he actually read out that question. He seemed a bit surprised. He pivoted quickly. After all he's not going to get into the weeds on live stream. If these questions keep coming up, he's going to have to take a deeper dive on what's happening. Good stuff!
