The 2A Zone, Franklin 320s are NOT SSE (single shot EXEMPTION), they are fully on roster single shot pistols. To get these registered as semi, you will either need to go the pawn shop route, or PPT with someone with one as well.

Now, I don't know if LASD will except a "single shot" firearm on the permit

I am under 30, showed up to my interview in slacks, dress shirt and tie.. Some of us still care about our appearances

        Renewal:
Expiration end of May. Sent in renewal beginning of December, just had phone interview today (4/21/23). Deputy said I should hear something within 2 weeks to proceed to training if approved.

How was the phone interview? What'd they ask? I've heard a couple different versions from buddies who just renewed theirs..

I do have to say 2 things and it may piss many of you off... 1) the letter they hand you really rubbed me the wrong way as I do not believe this right should ever be misconstrued as a privilege... It's not a driver license it's not a voting card, it's an amendment based on the constitution just like someone giving me the privilege to say what I want to say about anything... Folks would go crazy if they considered the 1st amendment a privilege that someone may grant you

2nd) And this one will get me into a lot of heat with y'all.. as I was there sitting in the lobby I gotta say some of the CCW interviewee's or even pickup folks terrified me.. common sense would say that when you are going into an interview (all be it we shouldn't have to) but what possesses you to show up wearing a full on basketball jumpsuit, sweats, jacket and all Bluetooth in his ear on the phone loud... All that was needed was a basketball and some sweat... Just ridiculous to not have enough respect for yourself. Even some of the youngsters there for either pickup or interview were suspect. Overweight, out of shape, dressed like they just got out of bed etc etc. Ive always believed that taking care of your mind and body leads you to make good decisions in life and that you care about your presentation and your life to work hard at being a decent human.i understand wanting to protect yourself and your loved ones BUT being in your 20s obese means you don't care about your own health and safety. Sorry

And yeah I do understand the stupidity of me saying on 1 hand this isn't a privileged and right next to it calling groups of people out...

Sorry don't crap on me too hard
When I went to my interview there was another guy also waiting within the group of about 6 people sitting in close proximity just coughing up a storm who clearly and visibly looked sick. He was coughing into his hands and coughing all over the place and when the interviewer came to grab him he stood up and shook her hand and continued to walk into the room with absolutely no regard for anyone there.

Congratulations on getting your permit...I agree with your statements...when I did my interview and pick-up, I made sure I wore a suit and tie and made sure I had a haircut and clean shaven. A professional appearance like a job interview...and you're correct on your statement on obesity too..a healthy diet and Excersize goes a long ways..

Thank you. I'm still floored. There is a slight hill to walk when you park and this kid couldn't have been more than 35 comes "Rollin" in out of breath sweating profusely asking for water in a t-shirt and jeans like he just ran the Boston marathon and came in 3rd... I mean dude 1st that hill is a joke and second where the heck you gonna conceal? This is after all conceal carry not outside the wasteband constitutional carry... I really was shocked

                    Los Angeles

I agree w/ responsible ownership and even more responsible CCW issuance. But we can?t tout the Bruen decision and then say law abiding citizens shouldn?t be allowed a CCW based on appearance alone.

I was stopped mid answer during my renewal interview when I began to answer the question of why I need my CCW - I was told that bc of the Bruen decision good cause was no longer needed. So the only other standards are the host of questions regarding mental status, issues w/ the law, fights, street racing, having been pulled over and searched, etc as the only standards by which they base approvals. Isn?t that what we wanted?

I do have to say, looking around a room there are people that I wouldn?t want to have a firearm or couldn?t trust w/ one. I recall my initial training class, there were folks who couldn?t hit the broadside of a barn. There were people who obviously weren?t the most familiar w/ handling a firearm. Scary thought but that?s what we get when we talk about 2a being a right.

I respect your opinion. I came into my interview dressed business causal. My regular attire though, is jeans and a shirt. Which I also wear to work. So I personally don't see anything wrong with people wearing their normal clothes when picking up. I mean do people dress up in a suit when they go to the DMV for their DL picture?

Very true and youre right. I hesitated writing my initial post as it seemed like judging someone based strictly on their appearance is wrong. Heck I do home loans and have had guys in sandals and torn jeans with hair not being cut probably for years having millions of dollars in their bank account...

I really did ponder if I should have written that but oh well. Much respect to all of you again my sincere apologies if it came out harsh as I was just making an observation all be it my own and not anyone else's.

                        Much respect!!!

I went to the store for the first time carrying today and realized I gotta get a better holster as printing is an issue for a guy that doesn't have much fat on him...

Also guys and I'm sure many of you have thought of this but I installed a drop down safe bolted in the trunk for when you get to a place and can't carry. It's next to impossible to rip this thing out. Just an idea and if anyone has a better option let me know

You should have asked those other people waiting to pick up if you could have their basketball attire. Baggy clothes can help conceal. HAHA!
What holster brand are you looking at? I purchased a Tulster for my hellcat and Tenicor for P365XL.

As another skinny guy, I?ve found appendix carry works best for me to avoid printing. Using a tier 1 concealed axis holster. Best one I?ve tried. Jeans and normal sized tshirts and I?m fine.

2nd) And this one will get me into a lot of heat with y'all.. as I was there sitting in the lobby I gotta say some of the CCW interviewee's or even pickup folks terrified me.. common sense would say that when you are going into an interview (all be it we shouldn't have to) but what possesses you to show up wearing a full on basketball jumpsuit, sweats, warmup jacket and all, Bluetooth in your ear on the phone loud... Sorry

And yeah I do understand the stupidity of me saying on 1 hand this isn't a privilege and right next to it calling groups of people out...

Sorry don't crap on me too hard
DK….I was there this morning too, pick up time before 8a. I was wearing the Punisher jacket, Hi Point hat, camo fanny pack, tactical shades and adidas track suit pants with green combat boots. Kidding…but I too noticed the crowd.

Those walking to the backroom werent there to interview for their CCW, they were there to test for a Custody Assistant job. Only reason I know this is because I asked the deputy. The one that took the cake was the guy in flip flops, a tank top, horrible tribal tattoo and Captain Jack Sparrow Hope earrings. He had an amazing Kenny Powers vibe. When I was waiting I did wonder if anyone sitting near me was a forum member.

On a side but relatable note to all, any idea as to protocol in terms of going to Angeles outdoor range with a ccw? I plan on going next week, and I couldnt find my answers online. I’d love to get more comfortable with carrying, drawing and firing my loaded weapon at the range. Curios if Im able to carry on the range grounds(not into the office, but once I’m on the acruel range)and curious if they allow firing from a draw, specifically from the hip.

Bought a Nexbelt edc Titan for a carry belt and a few tenicor holsters. I highly recommend both the belt and the holster. I’m 6’ 175lbs, after trying out a few configurations earlier this evening, I’m going with appendix carry. Doesn’t print at all, while the other options do. I may try a smaller holster and see if that makes a difference. Sorry for the lengthy post; just excited that my more than 16 month journey came to a conclusion today.
