This should not be a surprise considering they haven't met the timeline required by law either (The processing time for a California License to Carry permit is within 90 days of the date of application, or 30 days after the background check is received from the Department of Justice (whichever is sooner)). I now have 2 houses, 1 in LA County, and 1 in Clark County. I was up at the Clark County house last week, applied on Monday, LiveScan and Interview on Tuesday, took the CCW Course on Friday. I have advanced notification from USPS, guess what is in the mail and I should have tomorrow?

Whichever is later, not whichever is soonerwhichever is later. If the license is denied, the notice shall state which requirement was not satisfied.

Good news Boys! Seven weeks after submitting training docs, an unlisted number call came in so I calmly answered it pretending not to be excited. I cannot believe it but I am picking up tomorrow. From start to end it took six months. I didn't call or email them about anything and was patient with the process. Looks like I'll be seeing a few of you happy guys in Monterey Park.

You gave me some good hope! I got the email to do training about the same time you did. Sent in my shooting proficiency 8/24, got the received email 8/25. Now, just need to get that call. Congrats!!!

Here is my advice. Wait until the people ahead of you start to get calls before being too anxious. Why waste your time and energy frantically picking up calls knowing you are not up until a few months later. Also you only need to look out for unlisted number calls. There is no need to pick up spam risk calls or other listed number calls. Good luck.

stating he spoke with LT this morning, wants to make the process more achievable but also wants to make it clear people disclose everything UP FRONT as they will find out through livescan.

Sounds like a dodge to me. People aren't asking about why it isn't online (though that would be nice to have), they want to know why Light Green good causes are suddenly being denied, and a clear answer on whether there has been a change of policy at his order. And if not, whether he will fix the issue if it's just an LT acting out of line.

As for telling them stuff up front, I agree, but we have no indication that the recent denials were because something in the livescan came back ugly. The forms have the good cause box checked, not anything about failed background checks.
