I had this problem too. It was the first Glock i bought. So I bought a g26 after. To avoid this issue. I did get 9mm3 followers installed but have not tested it enough to rely on it 100%. I will take my lc9 and long trigger pull over this in an emergency. As it ejects cleanly and strongly and feeds everything so far. I rather crank and yank on a trigger than clear a nosedive under pressure. Hope all works out for you and will be checking back to read follow up.

I first shot about 60 rounds of hardball American Eagle 115g to get some heat cycles through and it ate them up without a hitch. I was straight shooting steel and then switched up to 7yrds practicing holstered triple shots w/ 2x hip-fire, 1x headshot...

Just trying to understand what you mean by getting heat cycles. This seems to be some unique terminology I am unfamiliar with.
Additionally, on triple shots. So at 21 feet you fired from the retention position with both hands or one hand?
Did someone show you this drill through formal training?
What formal training have you had with a handgun?

Just trying to get a sense of if your technique plays any role in your issue.

Hi guys... I've been thinking of buying one of these (Total newbie; my first gun). Sorry to ask but... what's a follower, and how will I know if I have bad ones? Just take the piece to the range and fire a hundred rounds? That would let me know if it's working properly or not?

        Thanks.

I was using "heat cycle" in terms of just shooting... I'm a car gear head O_o

7yrds was shooting steel. I would say rention firing was from 3-4ft. Holster drawn single handed with a canted double tap center mass shot, step back, and then a single shot two-handed isosceles fired to the head... Trying to give as much detail to show it was/not the shootie

I have 8yrs AD military training with the M9...

I had the same thing... No malfunctions. I contacted Glock and they asked if they could send me new followers. The guy asked if I was having feeding problems which I wasn't, so I didn't bother emailing back. If I do end up having a problem I'll contact them for new followers.

Recently bought a G19 that was made in Dec '13 and have 4 mags for it: all are of the part # in question. I've only fired about 150rds out of it so far with no problems except it shoots a bit high and right for me (I'm a lefty). No feeding problems with FMJ. Have not tried any HP yet but I do generally favor Remington GS which has been perfectly reliable in other pistols for me. I'm going to try that loading-one-round trick mentioned previously now and see what happens.

Son of a B! I just loaded one round of Remington GS 124gr ammo in each of my 4 10-round mags and dropped the slide using the slide lock (not how I normally chamber a round). Cartridge jammed in each mag!! I the repeated this drill with snap-caps and it loaded perfectly each time.
Glad I saw this thread. Thank the god of your choice I didn't have this pistol loaded up with HP's for HD use; have not had time to practice with this pistol enough to consider replacing my M&P 9mm.
Very disapointed that Glock would allow this condition to happen. This is my first Glock product and thought: What could possibly go wrong? It's a Glock! Yeah, right...

Thanks. I'll forserious call Glock about this. Still can't get over how Glock with their reputation for "Perfection" could let this happen with a pistol as common as a G19 (3rd Gen). Huge liability.
By the way, exactly how long has General Motors owned Glock anyways?

Just called Glock. They appear to be well aware of the problem. As soon as I described it to them, they asked me how many mags I had and said they would send me new followers right away.

Good luck with the followers. Of all guns I own, the Glock baseplates are the biggest PITA to remove.
