    G19 - STUCK

2183 FOLLOWER test/check steps at bottom

So I took out my newly purchased Gen 3 Glock 19 to get the feel of it and to see how it would handle the home defense ammo...

I first shot about 60 rounds of hardball American Eagle 115g to get some heat cycles through and it ate them up without a hitch. I was straight shooting steel and then switched up to 7yrds practicing holstered triple shots w/ 2x hip-fire, 1x headshot...

I figured it was time to throw some of my Speer Gold Dot 124g +P through it to see and make sure I wouldn't have any unexpected failures as it's my HD ammo of choice... I was shooting the same 2-shot hip fire, 1-shoot head and then this happend...

Failure To Feed... Stuck right on the ramp... So with it being my first FTF do you think it could be an ammo/mag/feed ramp problem? Should I stay with the Gold Dot? I love Gold Dot and haven't had a problem in the past. I continued to shoot the hardball stuff with no other problems...

Well I may have found the prob...

    ...go figure

IF YOU HAVE THE SUSPECT 2183 FOLLOWERS TRY THIS

    To test out the follower
    - pull back the slide and lock it into the rear
    - inserted (1) round in the mag and load it into your G19
    - release the slide with the slide release ONLY
    - if it fed try it several times to clarify that your follower is working properly

when I attempted this the HP hung up on the second try

    So what says you :/

Almost looks like the round is hanging up on the ramp. If these keep catching, Gold Dots might not be your best choice, since the round nose cycled fine.

The problem is the magazine followers.
Do a search for "Glock 19 2183 followers"

Yeah I'm aware of the follower issue... My G26 eats the Gold Dots with no problems and both the G19 and G26 eat FMJ with no problems...

wow, look at this, yet another G19 with a FTF issue. This is becoming a weekly occurrence.

Mine jams on the last round of any JHP ammo. I would try the follower fixes others have tried.

Definitely looks like the front of the follower is diving down

Sorry but its unclear to me if you changed out the 2183 followers? If not that is the problem - the followers only jam the last round of JHP ammo.

Blame CA first: the standard 15-shot mags work fine
Blame Glock second: dumb 10-round mag design

Technically its rare, but its more prevelant in less than free states because it only happens with the 10-rounders.

I'll try to deal with my local gun shop first and then call Glock... So now the question is which follower to get.

                            The 9mm3 or 9mm6...?

This^^ and HP does this on many guns. Look at polishing your ramp as well to assist the feeding. Not uncommon for this to happen with HP/Wads.
