Except the cost of testing the free replacement, which have been hit or miss, is $15 (more for HP's) a box, whereas 9mm6 followers cost $2 a pop and have been shown to be much more reliable. Besides, do you want followers that work for 'alot of people' or followers that work for everyone?

I just want followers that work for me. I'll let you know as soon as I can test them at the range, but the 9mm3 followers hand cycle my gold dot ammo fine so far.

More power to you man. I just can't place my trust in a product that carries a problem that can be exactly reproduced in my own tests and in the tests of other calgunners. Glocks are mass produced, and if a problem with the followers exists in several mags, I don't see how trying a different magazine would remedy the issue. But at the end of the day, it's your gun and I won't try to convince you otherwise.

Just got some 9mm6 followers I ordered from glockmeister and tried one in a G19 (Gen3) 10 round magazine and I'm happy to say that so far it works fine.
I haven't been at the range yet but I can now hand cycle through full magazine of different JHP ammo with 100% reliability. I've tried Federal HST, Remmington 147 gr JHP and Underwood +P JHP. With the original 2183 followers I got FTF for any JHP ammo for the last or last two rounds while hand cycling.

Does anyone know if this is a G19 Gen3 specific problem or are there FTF problems with G17 with JHP ammo as well? How about G19 Gen4 ? I also have a Glock 20, but I haven't experienced any FTF's there with any 10mm JHP or SW .40's.

I'm surprised glock ships such crappy 10 round magazines with the CA versions.
A simple factory test with JHP would have easily exposed this problem since it is so deterministic. This has definitely led me to question the reliability and quality control process of Glock in general.
You need 100% reliability for SD conditions. That's why I have a 686 revolver as my safety back-up.

It looks like Glock only ships 9mm3 followers and not 9mm6 as replacement for 2183 followers to which I declined.

I appreciate all the advice and reports posted here and in other threads about the Glock 19 FTF issue with 10 round magazines and JHP ammo

Glockmeister's detailed description for the 9mm6 followers states:

            "9mm Magazine Follower - Marked 9mm 6. Fits only magazines factory-supplied with number 4, 5, or 6 followers."

So, they're saying they're not intended to replace the 2183s.

BUT it appears that lots of people have successfully used 9mm6 to replace both the 9mm3s and 2183s.

Has anyone found any issues whatsoever using these??

Glad to be of some help brother! As far as I know, this issue is limited to all gens of Glock 19s using the California mags.

You'll note in the opening shot of the video that the mag is a 10+ rounder. I've broken more than a few mag inserts thinking this was how it was supposed to work... and does on NON-10 rounders.

Haven't tried the g-tul. Looks like it might help compress the mag.

Thanks, your posts saved me the time and efforts to try out the 9mm3 followers, which are not 100% reliable. Instead I could go directly with 9mm6 and be done with it. I will order more 9mm6 followers and replace the 2183-2 on all my 10 round magazines. Even the glock 17 10 rounders have 2183-2's.

I just sanded a little bit plastics off on the right side of the magazine as you suggested but when I tested manual cycling pre-sanding the JHP ammo still cycled through nicely so I don't know how much sanding you really needed.
The sanding causes the follower to be raised higher up when the magazine is empty to make sure the slide stops in the open position after last round.

Just ordered some 9mm6 followers myself. Can someone clarify what needs the sanding? The followers or the magazine? It would help a lot if someone who has done this successfully to post a picture.

On the magazine body, upper right side where the follower feed lip get in contact with the magazine body.
Did you look at diese's very illustrative photos in post (#119) of this thread:

Yeah but it's 4 pages in, on a topic that has been discussed before. I'd say it's time for some comedy too
