Got two factory 10-round mags with 2183 followers, and four pinned Gen 4 10/15s from Jestice Arms. No problems whatsoever with the 10/15s, but the 10-round mags repeatedly had FTFs (1x third, 1x fourth, 1x fifth, and 5x tenth rounds) using 124gr Freedom HP range ammo; didn't have any problems with any FMJ, or with 124gr +p Speer Gold Dots or 147gr Remington Golden Sabres.

G19 - STUCK

Insane.... This Thread almost has 24,000 views!!!
I still cringe when I read that people are still running the stock 2183 followers.
Also don't get me started with 9mm3 followers...
I've been running/training with 5 of my 10rd G19 Mags w/9mm6 followers for months now. Not one hiccup, I completely trust them now. Gold Dots 124gr +P stock is running low, my G19 is eating it up. I want to switch to HST next.
I still have 5 brand new 10rd G19 mags w/2183, collecting dust waiting for me to swap followers. I have 9mm6s set aside for them. I may just save them for a rainy day.Comment

Is there any downside to using the pinned mags? Are they difficult to take down for maintenance?Got two factory 10-round mags with 2183 followers, and four pinned Gen 4 10/15s from Jestice Arms. I'm so confused. Went to the local Glock store (glockstore.com) and they wouldn't give me followers of any kind (I didn't have my mags with me.)
- What followers should be used in a G19?
- How about a G23?
- How to get new followers?

Just confirmed in my g19 that every 19/17 magazine that i have with 2183 followers jams on the last round when loaded with hollow points (using hornady critical duty). I sent a message to glock, going to call them on Monday. Going to ask them about issuing a recall.Last edited by Get3CoffinsReady; 07-19-2015, 1:16 PM.sigpicComment

This is the third time this has been made relevant to me. First was the unbelievable unreliability of the tapco 10rd ak mags that I bought (works fine if they are new and clean, don't train/fight with them). The second was also during training and realizing how disadvantaged I would be in a gun fight.sigpicComment

Good luck with that and I mean that sincerely. When I called Glock months ago and told them I was having problems with my 10-rounders (wink-wink), the tech on the phone was very "short" with me. I could clearly see by his abrupt response that they are fully aware of the problem, yet won't do anything to rectify the situation permanently. He cut me off and asked "what's the serial number of you G19." Followed with "How many 10rnd magazines do you have?" He then said, "we will send you replacement followers, gimme your address." He sounded like he was reading from a script and that I wasn't the first he had heard from regarding this problem.
I asked if Glock plans on resolving this issue for everyone and he simply said, "no." I really wanted to choke him out through the phone. He sent me the followers that everyone said "don't work" anyway which are in my safe and I can't remember what part number they are at the moment. Anyway, I never swapped out the followers because like I said earlier, both FMJ's and Winchester HP's work flawlessly through all of my 10-rounders with the original followers. I just wanted replacement ones due to anticipation of future failures. Since I use Winchester HP's exclusively, I might never swap them out.sigpic

Glock will be sending the followers to me. No recall. Wonder if we should make a sticky for this.sigpicComment

Yes, the 9mm3 followers change the malfunction from the last round in the mag to the 4th, 5th and 6th round in the mag.
While I was waiting for the 9mm6 followers, I had loaded FMJ as the last round in the mag and JHP in the rest of the mag. A cheap workaround for the time being.
