Where can I buy barrel inserts or extended barrels to make SSE guns prior to shipping into CA? I'm not interested in low quality stuff.

Hi All,
If I SSE a pistol, and then sell it to someone out of state, would that person be able to bring the pistol back into CA if he moves back to this state and has the complete paperwork trail in originals?
An SSE pistol can be transferred within CA with no problems as long as I have the original and complete paperwork correct?
Thanks in advance.Comment

People can bring in non-roster firearms when they move into CA, they just have to fill out the required form within 60 days.
If you legally own a firearm, as long as it is not a so-called a-salt weapon, it can be transferred to another person. If it is done as a PPT, then handguns don't need to be on the roster.
In either case, you do not need prior paperwork.Kemasa.

Hello Calguns. Haven't posted in over a year. Looking for a bit of help.
Like everyone, i'm trying to tie up a few SSE needs before Jan 1. I just moved from Auburn to Santa Rosa CA. I had decided to purchase something from the awesome Audiophil2 list so I did a bit of googling since I don't have a relationship with an LGS here yet and discovered from this calguns archive that Rinkor Arms is a respected local store. Seemed great except I just stopped by and the gentleman behind the counter informed me they will NOT do an SSE transfer for me. Not sure if they changed their policy or if maybe he just didn't want me asking in front of his other customer? Im no expert on SSE having only completed one so hopefully I didn't make a faux pas and embarrass the guy... but up in Auburn it's all pretty out in the open since... you know.. it's legal.
Anyone point me in the direction of a Sonoma Country store that will do this transfer for me??? Santa Rosa or Petaluma Preferred. I could also do something in Marin county or greater Bay Area if need be but local is best. I'd like to get the ball rolling soon so I can fit in a few before years end.... plus I don't want the gun I want to evaporate form Phils list.
Thanks a ton for any help.Comment

There's a list of shops in the first post... most shops that don't do SSE are not very open to even discussing it, since you know, wanting to make money on what they do offer.
I would like to take this time to remind everyone that delivery of guns must be taken before January 1, 2015. Please check with your preferred FFL to determine their holiday schedule and plan accordingly. Happy shopping while we can.WTS all BNIB: Colt S70 Repro, HK45c, Gen4 G19Comment

^thanks for your help!
I had read the first page but it seemed lacking in stuff in my area. Which probably just reflect the reality of my area...! I guess I was hoping maybe it was outdated. Hope I didn't offend, I do appreciate all the work you did putting that together. Going by that list, Closest is Martinez which is 100 miles and crosses some nasty traffic zones.
I didn't mention it above but the calguns link I posed above at least one user claimed rinkor does do SSE... But maybe it's only for regular customers. Being new to the area, I've only bought 3 boxes of ammo from em.Comment

As the clock ticks down, I am still thinking about that M&P 9C I never got. I still have time to get one, but I have concerns. I'm not really concerned about using SSE to get an off-roster pistol. What I am concerned about is my warranty. Isn't it true that buying an SSE pistol is pretty much like buying a pistol without a warranty? Is everyone just okay with that?
One nice thing about my Glock is if something happens to it, I will at least be able to get it repaired or replaced under warranty, at least for the next few years. I do love my Glock, but I sure would like a 9C too. Even tried to find one used but they all seem to be in the San Francisco area and I am in the San Diego area. So SSE is my only option, if I can get past the no-warranty part.Comment
