It does not go into effect at all as of yet since the bill has not been signed.

Why not? Several calgunners have a stack of pistols at FFLs waiting to be DROSd. You could do 5 before January.

I do understand that but if the bill say for instance got signed tomorrow ... does it go into effect Right Away or is there a day set for when something like this goes into effect 'after' it is signed etc.?

If it gets signed tomorrow, no, it will not be in effect tomorrow. It goes into effect the day after tomorrow.

If that's the effective as of date that's on the bill.

Full Spectrum Firearms in Fresno has been added.

Yes, the bill will likely be signed this time around and go into effect. I am not fear mongering - I have no personal gain at stake here. The previous version would have been signed if they hadn't gotten greedy and crammed extra restrictions into the bill.

what I meant is that they have to be DROSed before Jan 1. Just buying them will not work if you buy more than you can DROS (one every thirty days) between now and Jan 1. I personally buy a few ahead of time so I have a 'birthday present' every 30 days. It's fun and rewarding.

study these threads and educate yourself on the process and "proposed" bill:

Just SSE'd a gen 4 Glock 19 at Gunfighter Tactical in San Diego, no fee for the SSE just purchased the gun from them. They can also do any 9MM, 40 S&W, and 45 ACP Gen 4 Glocks (and any 45 caliber 1911).

I've been looking for a firearm for home defense and practice at the range. We tried out different 9mm. I've settled on the Walther PPX. Does anyone know which FFL's in Northern CA that can do the SSE for this particular hand gun?

                      Thanks!

Check out Page 1 of this thread and there is a list of Nor-Cal gun dealers who SSE ... should be something on the list close to you hopefully.

My MPA was purchased single shot. What's the legality of putting a padded pistol buffer on it so it's not so front heavy?

For anyone who didn't notice today, the Senate passed AB1964, the bill that does away with SSE for the most part. The Assembly already passed it. If Governor Brown signs it, it goes into effect January 1, 2015. You can get all the details by going to http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/
