some issuing agencies are in fact denying SSE on CCW... it's fact. ron1117 stated his experience as such, as have others in this thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=933277

Having a non-roster pistol on your CCW is not the issue... having an SSE (single shot, 6" barrel) pistol on your SSE and using something other than that may be an issue (and clearly is with some issuing agencies).

I'm not saying it's right. But its happening... and as I've stated before, to think a prosecutor for plaintiff (in the event of shooting) won't go there, you're kidding yourself... but Ive also stated I don't necessarily believe it will result in conviction... it's just wise for people to know that it can happen. *note, I've said over and over, "may" happen, "can" happen... For you to insist it won't happen is simply irresponsible.

Hello Fam. This is quite a long thread, so I'm just gonna post a response here:

Looking specifically for a FFL in Nor Cal that can do a SAE on a S&W 686 Plus 3".

        TIA!

Nor Cal is a big area. Try Sacramento Black Rifle.

So I hear from many places and a couple shops locally that CA is trying to do away with the SSE here.

Once guy said this could happen Any Day?!?!?!

Is CA in the process of trying to ban this here as well?

I am wanting to know cause the firearm I am looking to purchase is currently not on the list at this time and the only way to procure one is via this process.

And if this is being attacked as well is he right that they could tell all CA shops any day now that SSE is banned?

Or do I still have time to save for my firearm I would like to purchase and get it at a later date?

Thanks for any up to date info you can provide on this.

Yes, There is a bill pending and if passed the Gov will most likely sign it.
                      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Will we know ahead of time if it passes etc.

Will there be a date set on when it goes into effect?

Just curious if it can end "just like that" without any warning .... if I know ahead of time I will make my purchase you know.

But one guy at a shop said they could tell him to stop tomorrow and it;s over .... seems like most of these new laws don't work that way.

Thanks for the reply and I look forward to some more detailed info if available.

I'm thinking the prudent thing to do is buy one two now on a credit card.

It goes into effect January 2015. FYI: buying a bunch on a credit card won't work. You need to DROS any SSEs BEFORE January 1, 2015 or you'll be denied and you can only do a every 30 days (unless you are exempt from that).

Sounds like even if you are exempt... well, you are still not exempt.

I appreciate that info ... I have not seen that anywhere.

Any links that show this is happening the 1st of 15'?

Or is that kinda the norm if the law passes this year it goes into effect the beginning of the next calendar year? (Kinda like this years Long Rifle law?)
