Nelson Tactical in Wisconsin will not ship off roster guns to CA. Here was their reply:

"Since most of these guns are immediately returned to their original state after pick-up we do not ship off-roster guns to California. Thanks for the interest.

Those guys don't seem to understand that we are allowed to own those guns in their original state, end of story. But they are more than welcome to deny themselves revenue.

Quick question (not sure if already asked?):

The whole SSE can be bypassed or "does not apply" to Familial Transfer of Firearms of guns that are not on The Roster, correct?

My dad lives in Texas and wants to get rid of his HK P30 and Sig Mk25, so he wants to just transfer them to me (I'll pay a fee to the DOJ and fill out paperwork for these two guns), but I won't have to worry about single shot conversion/de-conversion?

Intrafamilial transfers are exempt from the certified list, which means the firearms would not have to be a single shot, but make sure that the FFL you are dealing with knows how to deal with it. Since the firearms are from out of state, the transfer has to go through a FFL due to Federal law.

The firearms can not be so-called a-salt weapons and importing high capacity magazines is illegal as well.

What if you move out of state into California with an AR pistol? Would it have to be SSE or would you just dros it and live happily ever after? Be

Neither, DC3, you would just need to fill out the New Resident Handgun Ownership Report and send it in with $19.

If you plan on keeping the pistol grip attached, it will also need a bullet button installed and you can legally only run up to 10 round magazines in any weapon that has a bullet button type magazine lock installed. Even if you owned standard capacity mags from before they were banned, you can only run 10 rounders on BB pistols or rifles in California. More than 10 round mags in a BB weapon = an AW...

It would also have to be CA legal, meaning it is not a so-called a-salt weapon.

Sorry if this has been beaten to death somewhere else but this topic is confusing the hell out of me.

I understand the SSE for handguns, I am currently trying to buy a Gen 4 Glock. My Question is about the term of "circumventing?" the law. I spoke to a local gun shop that sells a lot off SSE of roster handguns, they are good to go. Where I get confused is a LE officer that I know said that if I were to ever use the gun (of course it will have been changed back to the factory specs) the courts could fry me showing that I "circumvented" the law to acquire an "illegal" firearm and possibly demonize me for using it to defend my family. It this a concern

Once again sorry if this has been addressed, maybe just point me to the right thread.

                              Have a good night everyone.

Anything is possible I however would not worry about that. Nothing you do to acquire the pistol is illegal.
