I was at a Turners yesterday, and an employee "suggested" that if I run into problems w/ a Gen4 Glock, that they wouldn't honor its warranty because I'm not a LEO, and got it via SSE.

I'm assuming that's bull because if it was true, there would have been mention of it already in the forums. But I just want to be sure.

A Glock Gen4 is legal to purchase in most of the other states and is not sold just to LEOs, so there would be no issue with warranty in that respect. In other words, it is FUD. There could be an issue if they knew it was converted, but that is really not much of anything, so I doubt that would ever come up.

A Glock Gen4 is legal to purchase in most of the other states and is not sold just to LEOs, so there would be no issue with warranty in that respect. In other words, it is FUD. There could be an issue if they knew it was converted, but that is really not much of anything, so I doubt that would ever come up.

Any places near the SGV (San Gabriel Valley) area that will do a SSE? Somewhere between West LA and Ontario, and between Burbank & Irvine?


I'm not talking about a FFL who will accept an already-modified SSE handgun (I found quite a few who will do this, but that doesn't really do me any good), but rather looking for a FFL who will receive an unmodified firearm from an out of state FFL and then do the SSE conversion in house so I can DROS it as a single shot handgun.

The only 2 places that are remotely close to me that I've researched and seen who will do this is OC Armory and EBR Works (both are about a 1.5 hour drive each way for me). I'm hoping to fine somebody closer so I don't have to waste a half or full day off of work 2 times, along with gas, to DROS & pickup a gun.

These are the two best FFL's that understand SSE and have the best customer service. It's the premium that is paid to get what you want.

So if someone got pulled over or approached at the range by law enforcement would they get arrested for a 10 round Magazine in an ak47 pistol? What is the best way explain this "single shot exemption" to the officer? & what evidence could you provide to back it up?

Don't talk to the police...why would you try and explain it to the officer?

Keep your mouth shut or offer to speak with them with your attorney.

I am just thinking of this scenario. you get pulled over & they search your car for some random reason & come across a 10 round mag for an ak pistol in the trunk.

But ya, I figured silence is the way to go. Its just something I was curious about if in a situation like that.
