With regard to revolvers, I'm having a *hell* of a time finding a shop that will process a revolver as an SSE. I've called several of the shops listed in this thread and all of them (Brent Nussbaum included) have said that they don't want to get involved.

It would be a SAE, not SSE. It would be hard to convert a revolver to single shot, plus ensuring that the size was large enough could be difficult as well, if it was not big enough already.

          Hello,
I'm looking at doing an SSE on a Ruger LCP from a VC Defense in Thousand Oaks. Dealers name is John, and seems very nice and knowledgeable. Does anyone have any experience with this dealer? I was told by a few people to be very sure that the dealer doing the SSE is doing it 'legally", and that some shops and dealers are doing it incorrectly. They need to be using the correct barrels and blocks? From reading above it sounds like to convert it with a 25cal barrel is incorrect, and that it would be registered as a 25 cal. So should it be SSE'd with a 380 barrel to be truly legal? Any info would help...Thanks

The .25 cal barrel conversion method isn't inherently incorrect. It's just that some dealers aren't doing it to the appropriate standards (able to fire a shot without a massive malfunction).

Semi-auto pistols are easy and so the pending legislation to close it down.

It is revolvers that are hard/impossible depending who you talk to. I have no idea how you'd do one: build a custom cylinder accommodating only one cartridge?

You need an FFL that will convert it to a single-action only revolver.

SAO revolvers are exempt from the roster.

It's not as easy as the semi-auto pistol method, but it's not unheard of either.

                        Yes.

The revolver conversion can be simple or complicated depending on the particular revolver.

What I mean is there any dealer that has a p225 barrel that would work ? They seem pretty rare.

use the list on first page that "Cyc Wid It" has spent so much time maintaining... call some of the FFLs closest to you and ask.

I live in San Jose and want to do a SSE but don't want to have to travel 80 miles to get it done for a good price. I'm thinking about a Ruger so who should I call nearby that is a good trusted SSE shop?

Maybe you should look on page 1 for the answer.
