I didn't dig out the 2017 class list to compare but it seems there are fewer class options this year.

Did Captain Marhoefer ever host any renewal classes at AVGC, or has the Hesperia station always been the only venue up there?

Seemed to me that the off-site classes were pretty thin, but I never saw last year's schedule. Looks like HQ still runs every month except December.
Only 6 classes in Rancho and 6 in Hesperia (alternate months, so there's still an evening off-site every month), plus 3 classes out in Yuccy Valley.

Given no overlap on date/times, I'm curious if Det Mason hosts all of the classes?

I don't think renewals have ever been anywhere except at SBSD stations.
Never had a class with Det Mason. He must have been doing them later in 2017. My renewal is early in the year.
Just looked at there are about the same number of classes.

Ya, maybe they rotate assignments. It would make sense... maintains current cross-training/proficiency and helps prevent burnout.

I live in LA county but own three large business properties in San Bernardino county.

Can apply to SBSO for a CCW due to the fact that I am in or at one of the businesses every day.
Has anyone tried and succeeded or was denied.

In theory yes.

The law says if you work in a county you can apply for a permit in that county.

Here's the problem. It's only a "limited" use permit. It's only good in the county that issued it and it's only good for like 2 months.

Really not worth your efforts.

Can anyone tell me how the renewal class works at headquarters? Do I need to check in behind the glass or just go in and sit around for the class/my name to be called? Thanks

Go upstairs, get in line and check in at the door. Have your Postal Money orders and ID in hand so you don't hold up the line.
