I am going to the oct 4th range/class. The flyer says the sheriffs training academy on institution rd. Anyone one else going? My interview was may 27th, joyce called jul 17th about range day.

I'll be there for the Oct 4th class also.

Hi Dirte, any idea where the class is going to be? Did they give you the flyer at your interview? I will probably stop by the office around oct. 1st to confirm because they have been known to cancel/change the location at the last minute.

As far as residency, joyce called me after my interview and told me that I should have at least 9 months in the county, I was at 8. If you try and get the interview without the sufficient time in county they will send you a denial letter.

Wow!! Was that after you paid? She's the one who told me I would be fine with 6 months! I have been in the county for years though. Did you pay and get denied after? If thats the case thats straight extortion

I did get a GMC denial letter but I appealed it. I got funny vibes from joyce when she called about the residency and correct phone no. Later when she called and said the denial was reversed I could have kissed her cheek. She specifically told me at least 9 months because by the time everything is done it will be 1 year.

Call employee resources and talk to joyce and let her know. Do you plan on staying where you live? Can you add 6 months to your lease? I would double check to make sure. If she says you are good to go then no worries.

Concerning the "lease" requirement.

My girlfriend is filling out the paperwork for her LTC, but she rents an apartment on a month-to-month rental agreement. Strictly reading the requirements, this does not meet muster.

She has been at that apartment for several years and in fact, you would have go all the way back to her college years (I won't tell you how long ago that was!) to find an address that was outside the county.

I tried searching the forum and this thread for people with a similar problem. The closest I found was someone who had his landlord notorize that he had been there for a while.

I told her to call the SO and ask, but in the meantime I thought I would check in here.

Has anybody else been able to get their LTC using only a month-to-month, along with other evidence of residency and longevity?

Yeah ive been here for years so itll show in my residence history. Only have 6 months left in lease, less than that when I go in October, but I will definitely be renewing. I aint going anywhere anytime soon
