So I called today, and spoke to Joyce. I told her that I have a lease where I am at but only been here 6 months and won't be renewing for another 6 months. I told her if I had to wait till my lease is up AND have new lease in hand before I could apply. She said "No you'll be fine, they just want to see you actually live where you say you do" I said Oh ok thank you, before I could even say anything else she asked if I wanted to come for an interview on October 24th at 8AM. I said sure!! She was very nice. My only fear is that when I show up they'll tell me I dont meet the 9 months left on lease requirement since its clearly stated in the instructions. I guess we will see what happens in October.

I am going to the oct 4th range/class. The flyer says the sheriffs training academy on institution rd. Anyone one else going? My interview was may 27th, joyce called jul 17th about range day.

Yes I believe she is. Both Logan and Hendrix can be very nice. They can also be sticklers but I guess that is their job. All and all the experience with either one is good especially once you get the call saying you passed.

If you are in San Bernardino County I encourage you to get the process started because they are busy and it takes time. The wait is killer but I suspect the approval rate is very high.

They seem to have redefined/refined this a bit which is good because the old policy did not make a lot of sense.

The point was to prove you were a resident of the county. And I suppose to keep someone from renting a place for a short time just to county jump, but I never really understood what having a lease that still had 9 months left on it accomplished. Unless this was a throwback from when the process took 9 months and they wanted to make sure you were still living there when they finished the process. Didn't really make much sense to me.

But I can tell you that I know someone else in your same situation and they were told they were GTG so you should be OK.

You mean besides WASR10 and JAJMZ, they stated it's 3 yards also. Holding on target to start, not even drawing from a inside the waistband holster concealed while moving under a shot timer and using a scored target. I say a guy miss 26 out of 30 shots, he had to reschedule his qual, pretty pathetic.

No way! 3 yards is 9 feet. A kid could probably shoot 10 out of 10 with rubber bands.

I mis-stated. It is 5 yards (+/-). It's certainly more than 9 feet, but maybe not quite 15. Either way, it's not at all difficult, and I honestly believe that it's more about safe handling than it is accuracy.
