She has been at that apartment for several years and in fact, you would have go all the way back to her college years (I won't tell you how long ago that was!) to find an address that was outside the county.

I tried searching the forum and this thread for people with a similar problem. The closest I found was someone who had his landlord notorize that he had been there for a while.

I told her to call the SO and ask, but in the meantime I thought I would check in here.

Has anybody else been able to get their LTC using only a month-to-month, along with other evidence of residency and longevity?

    Thanks.
Yeah tell her to call in ask because it does say in their instructions they dont accept month to month. Maybe she can have the landlord write a letter stating shes been there for certain amount of years.

      Regarding the lease...

I just spoke to one of the ladies that handle the CCW apps. She said that they will not accept a month to month lease at all no matter how long you have been there. She said they want to see that you have 9 months remaining so you are not going to move away.

I asked her about people living with their parents that don't pay rent or have a lease and she said they usually make a formal lease. (Not my case, I haven't lived with my mom in a decade)

I was hoping that there was something that could be done like a notarized letter from the owner or something but it was a no go.

Hey guys I am getting all my paperwork together tonight and noticed on the instructions that they want the ORIGINAL lease agreement. This might be a dumb question but they don't actually want the original right? My leasing office only has the true originals, I got the exact copy of the lease. This going to be an issue?

Talk about a requirement that means nothing except a hoop to jump through or a barrier. Leases get broken all the time and the only real penalty is "unrealized rents". In todays tight rental market, you probably wouldn't even have much of that.

Personally, I would think that having been there for a while was a bettor predictor of staying in the future then some contract with ink that's less then 3 months old!

And why do they care if you move next month? You are paying for the permit and if you move out of the county you lose it. Unless you are making where you live part of your GC!

I think that this is an odd item in a county that is generally considered to be pro-2A.

Had my interview yesterday. Very polite and courteous group of deputies. You might consider calling periodically to check for last minute cancellations. While I was there, I overheard them mention that 2 people scheduled after me canceled their appointment.

And no more requirement for local PD denial letter.

Thank you! I was actually wondering the same thing myself. Going to call soon and see if any interview spots are open before my October 24th date.

If caliber is correct I'm sure they will. I didn't SSE but I have an XDs on my permit.

To expand on this, in another thread a guy was told he could not use his SSE gun on his SB CCW permit because it was DROSed as a 25 auto even though the gun was a 45 ACP (don't remember the exact caliber).

The FFL did not have the parts to SSE it as a 45 so he used the 25 auto parts and put it on the DROS. When the SO ran the gun it came up as a different caliber so they told him he could not add it to his permit.

I think the thread was called SSE no go for San Bernardino CCW or something like that. I could be mistaken but that's how I remember the story, YMMV though.

Thank you! I went back to the store and got the CA version instead to be on the safe side. This forum saved my butt again.

well..... finished my class & quall today.... not a unworthy investment of time actually....

the white outline represents the target area.....

the shot out section under the 8 is with the Shield.....
all the out-lie'ers are the SD9VE..... much more difficult to shoot than the Shield!!!

So my interview is next Tuesday the 19th. I made the appointment back in mid April so it's been a 4 month wait so far. I realize they're pretty busy so I'm guessing I'm looking at another 60-90 days. Anyone have an idea what the current situation is on completion of investigation and getting an answer?
