I have to say... other than the number of months the process is stretched over.... I have so far had only positive experiences with the San Bernardino Sheriff Dept!!

I was just there 2 weeks ago and they run the serial numbers on the firearms to make sure they are registered to you. Not sure how the RO would do that at the range.

I did mine yesterday and yes, the handguns are to be brought with you in a locked hard case. Leave magazines at home. They take them into the back and do a records check on them to make sure they're registered to you. If buy a new handgun they are ok with emailing them the serial number, before your interview, and they'll run it to make sure it's in the system.

When I called the other day, the lady on the phone told me that one of the changes with their revised (5/2014) requirements, you are not allowed/required to bring your 3 handguns for ccw during your interview date.

I meant the RO inspects the firearms for modifications, i.e aftermarket trigger assemblies

What do they ask your employer?

My immediate supervisor is fine but I've had serious problems with the incompetent HR Director. Our last encounter involved being terminated while on FMLA leave. They put their intentions to violate my FMLA rights in writing (very stupid on their part). To their shock and amazememt I hired a lawyer. My lawyer ate them for breakfast.

My company is also based in anti-gun RI.

They didn't "ask" during the interview. There is a section on the application where you have to put down where you work. Even that section though doesn't ask who your supervisor is. My guess is they do an employment verification only.

They inform your employer that you've applied for ccw. There are about 4 questions that ask about the employers opinion of you. Are you responsible, would they rehire you, etc..

I purchased a Sig P320 (in 9mm) recently via SSE. When I went to my CCW interview, the interviewer told me that it was DROS'ed as a 25 caliber single shot and told me to get with the dealer to get it corrected. Does anybody have any advice on the easiest way to get the caliber corrected? Is there any thing I can do with the 'Single Shot' description listed in their database?

I believe there is a standard form you fill out, pay $19, and you're good to go.

Any leads where I might find this form?

Doesn't look like this form will work. A couple of people have said their checks were cashed but have not heard of anyone actually reporting that the state made the change yet. My form and at least one other persons were returned with the uncashed check and a letter saying you can not use this form to change caliber.

I had my interview last Tuesday. I've gotten reports from neighbors that an investigator has been by twice in the last few days. (it's a different person than who I turned my paperwork into in San Bernardino).

Anyways, I have a question about qualifying. I know I'm overthinking things but if I'm going to do something I want to do well at it. I found the target being the upper half of a D27 - I've even seen a post where it shows where the line is drawn. I know with each gun there's 10 shots with a mag change somewhere in the middle. My question is, I'm hoping to get a answer as to the quals being at 3 or 5 yards. I went out today and shot at a 3x5 card at each distance and there's definitely a difference between point of aim and point of impact at the different distances.

At 9ft vs 15ft there's a difference. Besides, it gives me something to do while I'm waiting for this background investigation to be over with

                              So is there a consensus? 3yrds, 4yrds, or 5yrds?

I remember it as 3 yards. It was also more about handling and safety than accuracy.
