Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Had my interview today. Everything went nice and smooth! Got there an hour early, waited about 10 minutes and went in. I figured they would tell me I was too early, but I’m glad I went in. They were able to help me right on the spot. There are two sets of windows when you first walk in. You walk to the windows straight ahead and let them know why you’re there and then they guide you to the set of windows to the left.
I went to the other set of windows and waited for a second to be let in the room.
While I was turning in docs the Deputy said He appreciated that I had all docs in order. I just put them in the order they are listed on the Instructions.
The staff was great as I’ve heard many times before. It was great rapport from the beginning.
After turning in docs at the main counter it was a short wait back in the lobby while the livescan machine was in use. Once it was my turn I went to the back office and Det. Dominick took my photo, then I walked about 15 feet further and another deputy took my prints after verifying all of my info on the livescan monitor..
Nice and easy process.. HELPFUL TIPS for anyone applying or renewing.
1) Make sure you have the correct type of money orders, One of the new applicants brought the wrong kind of money orders and was sent away. Luckily they let him go to a nearby post office to grab the correct form of payment but that could have went all bad.
2) Make sure your Utility Bills are current - Another guy that was renewing was also sent away because the utility bill he tried to use had a past due amount. Luckily he was able to get that worked out without having to leave though.
They don’t play about the docs, double check them.
Before going to the back to take my photo and prints I asked the deputy what’s the rough timeline from Interview to Training Class. He informed me that the thing that really holds peoples process up is the FBI fingerprinting process for the most part and that it could take up to 6 months. He also mentioned to me that because I’m a Veteran and just recently went through the FBI fingerprinting when I got my AZ CCW Permit it could only be a couple of months.
But in general most hold ups from what I was told have to do with the FBI fingerprinting.
While speaking with another clerk I confirmed that the classes for initial applicants are back in person and at the moment of our conversation the classes were being scheduled for at least 2x per month but that could change. I’m not sure about renewal classes being in person.
Altogether I was there about an hour. I got out of there about 20 minutes past my actual Interview time because I got there really early.
My current timeline—
Initial application - 9/11/20
Original interview date - 1/12/21 (Postponed due to Covid)
Rescheduled interview date - 4/20/21
When I was all done the Deputy said go home and wait for a call.
Hope this helps anyone going through the process.Comment
