We went over my training documents and proof read my permit and than the laminated it,

handed it to me, shook my hand and sent me on my way.

I left the building 10 minutes before my appointment was supposed to start.

I asked about modifications while I was there because I noticed the calendar was closed. I was told that since the San Bernardino event applications have gone through the roof statewide and it has slowed everything down. They are staying really busy trying to keep up. Due to that the modifications calendar probably won't be open until March, according to the officer that handled my issuance.. I was told that Livescans are coming in lately around 90 days.

Great to hear that you're no longer waiting.

    Congrats !

I forgot to leave this here after I got my permit. I've had it bookmarked for months.

in other news, i thought all you guys were just making a joke about someone carrying a concealed carry badge. i was at bass pro shop the other day and came across this:

i had no idea these actually exist haha

Nothing says "I think I'm a cop now" like a badge. Only a complete tool would actually carry one of those.

yeah i cant believe that bass pro shop would even carry those. it plays into the exact mindset they dont want ccw holders to have. you arent a cop. its not your business until someone makes it your business. my dad put it a good way. he said that being a civilian and carrying a concealed weapon should be considered the nuclear option. not the first option in any confrontation.

This would also dangerously flirt with the terms of license restrictions in certain jurisdictions, which prohibit CCW's from falsely implying or stating that they are LEO's.

You have not been reading carefully. 90 days, now.

SB impact hasn't yet hit the system.

im not talking about clearance of paperwork. im talking about calling the phone number, inputting your ATI number and your date of birth to check status. the usual time for clearance was 3 days to a week. some got cleared within 24 hours. now it is taking up to 3 weeks

Mine said in process for 95 days when I called the number. Buckle in for the long haul my friend. When mine was issued the deputy said they were averaging 90-120 days now. You might get lucky but.......

Not trying to piss on your parade by the way. Good luck.
