Just renewed today. What a breeze. Conversations with the staff were just as good as before.

I'm sure it's noted here, but you may fill in your information in section 7 when the counter clerk advises you to do so, but don't fill in the questions portion. The interviewer will verbally ask you the questions then initial the appropriate boxes.

Also, remember that your new permit is not active until after your current permit expires so if you've changed pistols, you can't carry the new ones until then.

I'll have to wait a month to start carrying my new pistols, but that gives the holster makers time to send me my stuff. My Sig will just have an extended duty period before retiring to the little island in the back of my safe.

Best part about being a Sac County CCW holder is that two of the three pistols listed on my renewed permit are listed with multiple calibers. Ran out of 9mm? No problem, I'll switch to .40 or .357 Sig until I buy more.

Need help.... Drivers license at renewal appointment

My DL expired, i renewed it online but it has not come in the mail as of yesterday. DMV website does not offer a "temp" printout, I called them and they said "no we do not offer a "temp" license until the real arrives" .

I have a renewal appointment early next week..... I can't remember from renewal past times.

            1. Do they ask for your Drivers license at the appointment? -
            and
            2. Will they cancel my appointment if i give them an expired license WITH a printout of the DMV screenshot showing paid and renewed? -

All up to date just waiting for the new DL in the mail.

            Thanks everyone.

In the past, it has been reported that 60 days would be the maximum. However, current policies may differ, so you may want to contact the CCw office to get current info.

When I was issued a couple weeks ago the deputy covered this. He told me I could start the renewal process 60 days before experation and we had a 60 grace period after experation.

                          Just remember two things.

                          1. You need to have your renewal appointment within the 60 day grace period or you will have to start over from scratch (application, interview, livescan and 16 hour class, wait for issuance).

                          2. Their may be overlap between when your old ccw expires and when the new ccw becomes active. If the new CCW is not in your hands by the end of the 60 grace period you must stop carrying until your new CCW is active.

At a minimum I would set your renewal appointment so you know you will have it within your grace period.

renew ASAP then modify later if that's the issue.
