More info as to the LiveScan time frame.
My sis works in the Home Health Care field.
Sends aides to clients homes for on-site health care.
Due to recent changes in the Home Health requirements, all hires must submit a LiveScan for a background check and be approved before they can even enter a potential client's house.
There's been a massive influx of new apps from that field, which has more than likely overloaded the system to a degree.
And given that it's Health care vs. weapons permits, we're both assuming that the health care apps come first as to importance of processing.
Her hire apps are taking about 4-6 weeks, given a spotless record.
Prior arrests for just about anything may require a waiver submission, which can add time.
That there is probably an increase in CCW apps, that's gonna add more time to the process, which is both DOJ and FBI.

Yea but if the live scan takes 6 weeks .. it's on a desk for the last 2.5 months 😂

I wish Live Scan has an option to pay to have the process expedited similar to how passport has the option to have it expedited for $60.

I honestly wouldn't mind paying extra to have my Live Scan expedited....

At 5.5 mos, that's a good suggestion. Also, check your spam folder for the past two months.

When I call the livescan number it says it is still pending FBI and DOJ review.

I just tried to schedule my initial appointment and the website shows that there are no available openings through the remainder of 2016. Just wondering if its usually difficult to apply or its just busy this time of the year?

They schedule one month ahead so that's pretty normal so keep bird doging it way back in July 1st when I got my appointment I looked at 12 noon and they were booked out untill Aug 30th all ready ... Good luck

I was told, as of Jan 1, they will be transitioning to an electronic system similar to other counties and the permit will be like a DL. They haven't received the program yet, so they dont even know how it works.

3/30/16 - scheduled appointment
4/26/16 - initial appointment
6/14/16 live scan
11/28/16 - final approval
