i did live scan in Feb

today i received approve email. and asking me to submit training and new residency proof.

do i start the training now or wait until my livescan is cleared?

I suggest you to wait on your training since live scan takes some time. You can use the wait time to practice.

My wife did initial appt. 1/24/17 and did LiveScan the same day;
Received notification of approval today!!!!
Due to their delay had to resubmit proof of residency, the livescan form (which still is "Pending" per CA and the feds- so how is the CCW application approved?) and the instructor's certificate (which she'd already submitted).
OMG - if welfare was this expensive, frustrating from the lack of ability to talk to the people in charge and time consuming a whole lot more people would be working.

January 26th at 4p.m. attend original appointment
May 12th at 8:21a.m. receive approval email

Now just waiting for that lifescan to come back...

A friend said that I need a Livescan AND a background check..... isn't the Livescan a background check already? I paid $120 when i did my Livescan.

Also, since approval of CCW on May 11, is there a deadline to get training done?

As a someone who had the interview on 2/15, it's very exciting to see a Jan 31 approval. That means Feb approvals are just around the corner!!

You should receive good news any day now. My BIL 2/1, approved 5/12.

How 'bout this?
For us February initial appointments eagerly awaiting the approval email,
how 'bout uploading recent residency proof in advance of the email.
Cant hurt, and might save a bit. Why not?
