Livescan done, updated my initial post. Livescan was busy this morning. Took about an hour to get prints done. No biggie, now it's waiting time. I might wait for my next pay period to get my classes done.

Get the Training done, you will not be waiting 4 Months!! Look for it to take around 70 Days!!

Sac County requires you to go to one of their stations for Live Scan so choose the one closest to you for convenience.

They are walk-in, but call before you go to ensure that the roller is present.

60-70 days tops. Get your training done. Unless you know a reason why you would be denied your pretty much good to go at this point. I livescanned the day I was approved and took the very first class available less than a week later.

I did the training first, i had a carry permit in another state for five years and didn't see a reason i wouldn't get one here, plus I've been livescand for the school district and a daycare lic. Go get your training so your ready when you get the email to go pick up your permit. 60 to 70 day is the average, my wife is at 50 days now, I'll keep you posted when she gets it

Anyone else seeing long wait time after fingerprints are done? I'm on 8 weeks with no word now. I emailed Sac and they said to wait it out.

I did it after I did the live scan in about one month just to be sure.I knew I was going to pass but if are not sure just wait.

I called the Livescan hotline yesterday and mine still show pending for California and FBI. I wish it went faster.........

So you are in the Mid 50's, most likely about three weeks out. Relax it will get here before you know it.

Will the class count if I take it before my app is in?

Not necessarily. The class has to be taken within 6 months of issuance. If I'm wrong someone will correct me. I know this is the case with livescan as well. County approval can range from a few weeks to a few months on its own sometimes. Than you have to wait on livescan. Another 60-90 days.

Also people get denied for things they don't even remember all the time. Folk think they are good to go and than get hung up on stupid stuff. Best bet would be to wait for county approval at least before shelling out $200. $20 over $200 is a safer bet. Their plenty of time to take it after livescan. It won't make your process any faster to have it done ahead of time.

But if money is no object you could just take it anyway and just hope things work out. I enjoyed my class so much that it motivated me to sign up for other classes.
