Seems there are no address modification appointments available until August. Anyone have any insight into that? Always been a plethora of them in the past. I would assume it's just the ripple effect from the budget thing...

Soooo my question is, what's a guy to do if he's moving?

It seems to be covered here:

      Policy, Page 1: (http://www.sacsheriff.com/Pages/Orga...cw_process.pdf)
Conditions After Issuance of Approved Permits:
      • Permit holders must report to the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department within 10 days of any change in residency.
Sac Sheriff website, Modification Appointments (http://www.sacsheriff.com/Pages/Orga...IIB/CCW.aspx):
Address Changes: If you are moving, California State Law requires you to change your home address with DMV within 10 days [NOTE: updating your automobile registration will NOT update your home address!.] It takes at least 72 hours for DMV to update their database and before your modified CCW permit can be issued we must check DMV’s database to verify your address change. You must bring with you to your appointment two (2) pieces of proof of residency dated within the last 60 days. WE DO NOT accept overdue bills! Acceptable proof must be a monthly bill such as a utility bill, bank statement, cell phone bill, credit card statement, etc. We do not accept documents from DMV as proof of residency! You will be required to surrender your current CCW permit before receiving your newly modified CCW permit.

No one wants you hanging around the lobby. If they put up with it for you, they'd have dozens hanging out hoping for a cancellation.

Just a word of support.....patience! We are lucky to have a Sheriff who is still issuing in this political climate. I am patiently awaiting my livescan results, four to six months now (CADOJ is the slow one).

But if there's no appointments available, how are you supposed to report your move to them?

                    Initial or Renewal?

I had my CCW permit last year, it was revoked because I forgot to update a change of address with the Sheriff's department (apparently they actively check DMV records). I am eligible again in December. Would this be a initial or a renewal appointment?

Email the office. That's a report. A phone call is also a report, but an email gives you a dated, written record.

You were revoked. You don't have a permit, so there's nothing to renew.

                        Good luck.

Yeah, I ended up emailing and talking to Amber. It would be a initial appointment again.

Submitted 5/2. Emailed yesterday, Amber replied this morning, still waiting for DOJ to return info. Also said taking about 120 days, as others have already reported. So, still waiting....

Thanks for the info. I know just before I submitted they were running 60-80 so I was hoping I'd fall around the 90 mark.. As others have said before, this wait sucks.. Oh well.
