I got email from Wes, I will get appointment when I have the approval letter, Vinson, how many classes a month? Once a month like the others training facilities? Thanks.

      Concealed Carry Fundamentals

      All,

I just received 100 copies of "Concealed Carry Fundamentals". This is a great resource for you if you are preparing for, or just received your CCW. Alot of the info in it and it is even more than you receive in the local classes.

They sell for the listed price of $26.95 and are well worth it! Being a recent recipient of a CCW approval and now preparing for class myself, this will make class more meaningful and well worth the $$.

      Just my 2 cents

I just looked at his calendar on his site: www.lfiguns.com and he's very busy... Lots of classes.

I do recommend him for CCW training. You won't be lumped into a BSIS guard card class. He's more expensive than the security academies, but, like Ron Etchells, his course is geared specifically towards CCW. He's also a LOT more available than the academies...

First off, thank you all for the nice words. I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity to help you through your CCW process. I will continue as long as there's a need. I whole heartedly believe that our communities will be better places as a result of all of you carrying.

tiko, I will be putting on 3 - 4 CCW courses per month until the demand dies down. My class sizes are 10 or less so, be sure to schedule your class in advance. I'm also very willing to help accommodate scheduling issues. Just communicate what you need with me and I'll try to make it happen. Take care.

Received my approval yesterday. Then promptly went to livescan with the Sheriff office. Will be rereading the thread to see when to set my final appointment.

My appointment isn't till the end of May. This sucks, but at least it's attainable now.

Don't worry, it does fly by rather fast. It seems like it was only last week when I called in and setup my appt in Oct. I've already gotten my initial approval letter, done the livescan & have my class this weekend. From the automated telephone line, my livescan results have already been confirmed and sent off, I'm hoping I can get my permit by my birthday at the end of March. That would be one of the greatest presents ever, and it's mostly due to the hard work from the CGF.

BTW - With over 200 applications in the works already this year, why are there less than 20 people that have sponsored Sacramento County in the CGF drive?

My father in law just had his interview with Sac Sheriff and reported something I consider quite strange....

He was asked if he owned rifles if so, what type and how many. He was asked where he goes shooting and how often. He was also asked to describe the guns of family members (including mine much to my chagrin).

                      Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm a little pissed at the FIL for describing my EBR/RAW type stuff.

Definitely wasn't asked that question or anything like it, nor anyone I know that has gone through the interview already.

I wouldn't worry about it. I am an FFL and in my interview, the detective asked what kind of guns I had also. I told him Ca Legal AR's, AK's Saiga's etc. I had nothing to hide. Received my Approval letter last week.

This is my first post. Ive been reading this site for a few months now and Ive learned a lot. I had a question I hope someone can answer for me. Im considering applying for my ccw, had one when I was in the military in South Dakota. On the application one of the q asked if you ever had a restraining order. When me and my ex got divorced over 20 yrs ago I cant remember if she had placed one on me or not. I remember her saying she was because she was pissed i cheated, anyways I asked her and she didnt remember. I dont want to put yes on app. and be denied if she didnt, but I aslo dont want to put no I find out I did and be discqualified. After all that my question is is there a way to find out for sure b4 I turn in my application. Thanks for your help love this site

Didn't know about any sponsorship but I'll kick down something.

Had my initial appointment this morning. I arrived early, they took me in right away and I was done by the time my actuall appointment was set.
Prepped me for the rest of the process (was of course aware) and made It seem like a forgone conclusion.
                                Pretty excited, thanks cgf!
