Correct. And it's payment upfront and non-refundable.

          From the schedule posted above:
The initial livescan and Local fees are paid separately. The livescan fee is paid at the time of Live Scan fingerprinting. The Local fee is paid when the CCW license is issued. Local fees should be made payable to OCSD for the Local amount only.

At least with my experience, the payment was not made upfront. In fact, I still have not been asked to pay it and I've finished the entire process and waiting for final approval. I was told if the approval is granted, I will pay the $169 at that time.

I made a payment in April when I submitted the online application and they refunded it. I expect that they will ask for payment upon issuance of the permit.

I paid up front as well but 2 days ago I got an email stating that my card had been refunded because they cannot collect fees until we are approved. It is necessary to submit it app, but they will refund it within a week.

It didn’t give you a “Pay at Office” option?

Note: I know I need training, not just the certification/license.

Ben Hansen seems like a great option but he doesn't currently do remote training which I was hoping to do because of COVID. Artemis does theirs virtual but cost more. Ben is working on getting his virtual but will take some time. Any other suggestions, anyone virtual that is cheaper than Artemis?

                          Anyone have experience with these?

I highly recommend attending Artemis' course for CCW training. The owners are a couple that are great people with excellent curriculum. Their price is a bargain for value given.

Plus, not something people can skimp on for training. I’m sure they’re worth every penny.

Should I apply first and wait for conditional approval before taking the class? It would be lame to take the class and get denied.
