Almost everyone I've talked to in OC went from application to permit in just around 90 days provided that you did your livescan the moment you applied, and submitted all of your documents and training certificate prior to your interview. If you've done all that, your interview will be advanced to around 90 days from application and your permit will issue the day after your interview.

True. I took the advice from someone in this thread and got my livescan done about a month after my application was submitted. Great advice.

I was originally scheduled for Oct 2023, after my live scan was done it was moved to April 2023. If I do my training now, do you guys think it would move up even further?

CA and FBI cleared same day

Waiting on Firearms now...
Once completed ill schedule training or should i just do it now?

any recommendation on classes in the Garden grove area or are they all pretty much the same.

If it were me, I would schedule the training now. Or at the very least, decide which class you want to take and see when the available upcoming classes are. Some may be more booked than others.

+1 On Elite CCW in Fountain Valley. I went in 10/29 and Mike Duda ran a great training course. It was fun and thorough. Nice facility with lunch included and drinks throughout the day. He was head of the CCW unit for OC so he really knows his stuff. Did my live scan, training, and signed up to USCCA with a rep who walked us through all the details. It was a no pressure atmosphere with no obligations other than to listen and learn.

Firearms just cleared this morning and my appointment date was moved from March 2023
to Jan 2023

Please correct me if i am wrong but on the actual "request for live scan service" document where it requests for "you OCA number" that is the same as ORI code?

You may have jumped the gun by assuming that Elite sold out to USCAA. I wonder if you presumed so because GnarlyLykn singned up for USCAA with one of its representatives who was took part in Elite's training program. That does not mean that Elite sold out to USCAA.

For instance, I am aware of at least one other OCSD approved trainer that allows a USCAA rep to have the floor for part of their classroom instruction and said rep signed a student up during the class.

Not that it matters, but I am not a fan of USCAA.

Same, it was a bad experience, I prefer to avoid trainers that do this.
