Varies. We've had reports of a day or two or a week or two. All depends when it lands one someone's desk, how busy they are, where you are in the queue, etc.

My residence check 1st attempt was 6/28/16 with my interview on 6/24. I wasnt home, and they came again 2 days later with the same result. 3rd and successful attempt happened yesterday 7/15.

They attempted to visit my house within a week of my interview, although I told them I would be in Europe.

His visit surprised the hell out of my brother who was house sitting for us.

The day after I returned home he visited again.

I chatted with him briefly, even invited in him, he declined and left after maybe five or ten minutes...

Hopefully you'll get bumped up a bit. I would start livescan about 80 days before appointment if you think GC is solid so you won't waste time/money.

I'm 10 weeks into my livescan, but when I had my interview 3 weeks ago, my interviewer anticipated the results to be in at the end of Aug! I hope it isn't that long.

My timeline from start to finish was 6 months and 10 days. Keep in mind I had everything completely finished by the time I went for my interview including livescan results and training. Res check was 2 weeks after my interview. I don't think there was anything I could have done that would have made the wait any shorter. Started the process on 01/15/2016. Pick up date 07/25/2016

Smart man. We try to encourage others to do the same but not everyone does so. You shaved at least a couple of months off your time by having everything done.

Absolutely. I am in the fortunate position that the money wasn't an issue. If anyone is in the position to put up the money up front for training and Livescan, do it. I don't have a record because I have been a good boy. There was no reason they wouldn't issue me a permit so I felt comfortable forging ahead with the process. I highly recommend it.

Does anybody know about any prohibition of concealed carry at the OC fair? I didn't see any signs but there were metal detectors. I wonder if I would be correct in assuming that if there are no signs and you set off the metal detector and show your license all is good?

The quick answer is no, would be my guess. Plus, OCSD has the contract for police services there. They may look at you cross-eyed and drop a dime if you tried to enter with one of their issued CCWs.

If you went to the website you could probably find out. I doubt there is a CCW exception.
