GC Statement
I work in the insurance industry so I go on appointments to peoples homes and places of business. The appointments are in the evening and in the daytime and can be in neighborhoods that are unfamiliar, upscale and also inner city and high crime. I do take money to the bank, cash and checks but not a substantial amount of cash (not more than 3000 cash at most) but do transport this money etc from the client appointments. Good enough or not?Comment

You need a CCW just for working in the insurance industry.

Seriously, while these seem reasonable justifications, it wouldn't hurt to have a second set of eyes on your GC.
Contact whomever you plan to do your training with and ask them to review it as well.Real Californian...Comment

I just got my appointment date today, March 2nd...... Anyways........ When I was a Minor "16" I was arrested for arson. I did their program + community service and a lot of $$$$ later I got my file expunged. I moved on in my life and have forgotten a lot of details on that file. From what I understand they can still see that file and that its turned into a IOJ. Even if they couldn't see it, My prints are still in the system. I was just Wondering if I should do a live scan before I have my appointment. Just so I can see whats on file. I just don't want to miss any info on my disclosure, to have it screw me later.Comment

I don't recall seeing any results of any type on my DOJ or FBI background check. All livescan does is record your fingerprints and electronically send them to DOJ and FBI with a report request to be sent to OCSD. They track by some kind of application or case file number. If you go through their system it all gets done automatically.
If your youth arrest was more than ten years ago I would still apply and just answer the questions in the application. I don't recall all of the questions, but seems to me there's one, "have you ever been arrested or convicted of a crime." So you would have to answer it the way you did here. I don't know if that disqualifies you or not. It doesn't cost anything to apply, up until you pay for the livescan process which is about $100. In the first interview they would likely be able to tell you if your past situation has a bearing. Then you could decide to or not to pay for the livescan and background check.
Perhaps someone more well versed in what disqualifies can reply here.

You'll need to disclose it because yes, they will see it. Arson is a serious crime and depending on the circumstances you may have a tough go at it. The fact that you completed a diversion program may help. Just be honest and upfront and that should help. Stick around here and learn from the various threads.
Good luck....let us know how it goes.Sent from Free AmericaComment

It stands to reason you would. Why not contact ocsd directly about it? Report back.
