Traning cert. for all 3 guns listed?
Hello my fellow Calgunners,
I've searched this question all over google and can't find exactly what I'm looking for so I will ask here.
I want to list 3 guns in my ccw application, do I have to take a training course for each individual firearm? Or is it one course with one gun, but 3 inspections?
ThanksThe Right to Arm bearsComment

OCSD only allows 3 firearms.Comment

Most have holsters available and the 2nd and 3rd firearm require less ammo than the first.
I suspect you will get some recommendations shortly.Comment

Yes, you have to fire a total of 72 rounds from each qualifying firearm (24 rds each from 3 Yds, 5 yds, and 7 yds). No need for holsters. So if you're listing 3 guns, take 216 rds of Ammo with you.Last edited by David M///; 07-19-2016, 8:13 PM.Comment

I took my CCW course with my first firearm...had to use an OWB holster with this firearm during the course.
Towards the end of the course, we could qualify a 2nd or 3rd firearm with no need for holsters.
I brought about 300 rounds (100 rounds per firearm), although I only shot 72 each from the 2nd and 3rd firearm.
If you want, you can run the course with just 1 firearm, and then add a 2nd or 3rd firearm later...(of course, with an additional fee)Comment

True.
Haha. If funds allow I will definitely consider adding two more.
I plan on doing that as well. Thanks!Comment

Applied for my CCW today, now to figure out what Handgun will fit my needs. Interview is in Jan 2017
For my just cause reason: I am a freelance photographer who carries an average of $3,000+ worth of gear with me, often times I am alone, and my shoots mainly take place at night in run down/secluded locations.. Obviously I would elongate the reasoning.
Would that be sufficient?
Your good cause needs to focus on the threat/fear of grave bodily injury or death - not protecting property. I know this gets debated to death, and when they were taking pretty much just self defense as good cause, some were just saying they had a fancy car or some such and declaring that was valid good cause.
If your personal property, whatever it is, makes you a target, then that is relevant. For example, I had originally said my garage is full of equipment and recreational toys, and it's always open, which made me a target for bad guys/crime. It was pointed out that I don't need a carry permit to defend my home, and secondly you can't shoot somebody for stealing your 'stuff'.
Come visit us over on the other thread.
Oh, and you don't need three weapons, you can just license one. But the statute allows up to three so if you're so inclined you can have them put on.1911 ShooterComment

You'll want to have at least 75 rounds for each for your range qualification segment. Surely your trainer will advise you what they require.
I did not have any 'inspections'. Both of my weapons were purchased under SSE. They don't care how you bought them, only that you legally own them. OCSD never asked to see my firearms.1911 ShooterComment

Just curious how quickly amendments are processing...
I will need to add/delete some of the pistols listed on my permit.
Any feedback on how long this is taking?
I know the process:
Just curious how quickly amendments are processing given the demand and any internal changes ...
