"Remains the same..." Hopefully they still process them as a "Shall Issue" if you don't have any disqualifies.

Just sent in my renewal application. Shouldn't be any issues.

Currently Thursday 6/9/2016 (now Post-Peruta decision) and still waiting patiently for a response.

I've been waiting for a response since 5/15/16

4 weeks in.. probably 6+ months to go.

You need to fill out the form again. Sometimes it doesn't go through. Mine when through on the third try. If you don't hear from them within 48 hours of applying for appointment date then fill out the form again and resubmit.

Sure, he asked about things I had in my application but changed dates/locations. And would then wait for me to correct him with the answer that matched the application.

What leads me to believe these were intentional was that they were asked after we had reviewed the application already, and he was looking at my background check. He also printed out a satellite view on street view of what he said was my home address (the address he said was correct, the home he showed me was not) he then had me explain exactly where my home was located and he then printed the correct pictures.

I may be overthinking the process, but the fact that he had all of the correct information in front of him, as well as my home address coming up correctly when typed in all of the popular map sites leads me to believe these questions were asked intentionally.

It was an interesting experience considering everything I have read and heard said it would be a very quick and laid back interview, funnily enough my buddy had his interview the next day and he was not asked for any kind of proof of for his good cause, nor was he asked any of the "tricky" questions.

Wow - not one of those things, in any degree, happened during my initial application interview nearly 2 years ago. I'm now up for my renewal and certainly don't anticipate anything like what you went through.

They're cops...if anything set's off a suspicion they'll run with it, ask more questions. No harm no foul.

Funny how when you get old(er) lol they treat you different. When I was a kid they were the enemy.

Got a vibe that I was like part of the family...the sheriff's citizens with guns. When I see them out I always want to wave...but I don't.

^This. After a week of radio silence, I sent an email to address listed on the online form and got a response in about a hour with appointment date in October (and that was on 6/9/2016).

I sent out my renewal info June 3rd, today I got an email stating to provide my employment information. I replied back that I am not currently working due to a career change. I stated that I hope it's not a problem. We will see if not being currently employed has any bearing on their renewal policies. I'll update when I hear back from the OCSD employee handling my file.
