Has anyone had their appointment bumped up recently? For a while I was seeing people jumping up a couple days, to a couple weeks earlier. Haven't seen much of that lately.

I think initially there was a lot of people testing the waters, double booking, etc. Some folks probably also signed up and changed their mind or realized they wouldn't be approved because of their background. There is still some cancellations going on, but not to the extend there was at first.

mpang14, I was thinking about doing the same thing as you did in order to speed up the process. Do you know how long the Livescan results are valid? I realize that these results are only going to OCSD. My appt is in June, so I don't want to be too early ....

Steven at Artemis suggested that once you have an appointment, go ahead and get LiveScan going. My appt is in March, I did LiveScan in Jan. Just checked on the status. Still in process.

Given you're several months out, I'd probably hold off a couple months.

What is it? Around 30 days after the DOJ clearence then decision must be made?

How long after the interview do they do the residency check? I haven't heard anything from my neighbors or OCSD. I guess no news is good news?

It could be a few days, it could be a few weeks. Hold tight. Yeah, no news is good news.

26205. The licensing authority shall give written notice to the
applicant indicating if the license under this article is approved or
denied. The licensing authority shall give this notice within 90
days of the initial application for a new license or a license
renewal, or 30 days after receipt of the applicant's criminal
background check from the Department of Justice, whichever is later.
If the license is denied, the notice shall state which requirement
was not satisfied.

The DOJ check mentioned above is generally thought to be the firearms clearance. You can't check the status of that over the phone, so it may not have came back yet unless you know for sure it has.

He gave me a call on 2/3/2016 to advise me they recieved the MAILED response fron the state. My call today to the CCW unit, to confirm reciept of my training cert, revealed it was on final review.

Interestingly, the DOJ bot says FBI and Doj are still in process. I guess I can wait a week before I am like Nikita Khruschev and start banging my shoe on the lobby desk demanding to know the decision.

Good to know. Yeah, give 'em a few days then call and see what's up. Regardless of what the code says, you're at their mercy. They're not intentionally jacking people around, the wheels just turn slowly...

Right now I give them calls every two weeks to see if the need info or ask for an update.

I don't know if she plans to run again, but those numbers translate into a lot of votes. Granted, not every CCW'er would vote for her. However, if most did, and those folks encouraged a couple of friends to vote for her (or whomever would vow to maintain a similar or better policy), it would make a difference.

Probably a bit early since her most recent term started less than a year ago and the elections are every four years.

Can you outline exactly how?

Starting the process now and see that I have to fill out same application as before. Does that mean new res check, livescan?
