If you can articulate ANYTHING more than SD, which all of us can and you have a clean background you will get your permit!

This might be a stupid question but can I do my LiveScan at any LiveScan place, or does it have to be in Orange County?

You can go to any LiveScan. Just print out the livescan form off the OCSD website.

Ya, make sure they get everything electronically sent to OCSD on your case. That way it won't get lost.

My appointment isn't until April 17th. Since livescan is taking so long, I was thinking of doing it now so the wait isn't too long. If it's all digital how would it get lost?

I was told by Steve at artemis that once you have an appointment, you're on file with ocsd so your results have a place to go to.

I forget now....seems to me you have a link number or email or something, or livescan asks you for what entity. It does needs to get linked to OCSD.
There have been at least a couple of lost background checks.

There is a spot for OCA (agency identifying number) on the form. I have no idea what that is. I'm heading over to a Livescan place now and we'll see what they say.

Dont need to fill that out. The livescan people know what needs to be filed out.

I don't know if she plans to run again, but those numbers translate into a lot of votes. Granted, not every CCW'er would vote for her. However, if most did, and those folks encouraged a couple of friends to vote for her (or whomever would vow to maintain a similar or better policy), it would make a difference.

Livescan done. Fingers crossed it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. No additional info needed, as was mentioned.

mpang14, I was thinking about doing the same thing as you did in order to speed up the process. Do you know how long the Livescan results are valid? I realize that these results are only going to OCSD. My appt is in June, so I don't want to be too early ....

I don't know. But that might be a little too soon, unless you are ok with it possibly being lost. I don't know how that could happen, but apparently it has before.

Personally I wouldn't get Livescanned much more that four weeks, six-ish max.

Has anyone had their appointment bumped up recently? For a while I was seeing people jumping up a couple days, to a couple weeks earlier. Haven't seen much of that lately.
