You can base it off your job (depends what you do), carrying large amounts of cash, traveling or hiking in remote areas, etc has worked for some.
Thank you. I was unaware that travel/hiking is grounds for a good cause. I do a lot of off-roading/camping/hiking. Still unsure of how to word this and/or how long to make it.

Is there a site (or thread) where I could find examples? I know not to plagiarize, just need a better idea of how good cause statements, related to outdoor activities are worded.

    Thanks!

        Newbie CCW

Anybody applied for CCW recently? what's the timeline look like?
Also, a reason like "Self-defense" would be enough for a "cause"? if not what do you suggest for someone who has not been previously assaulted and unable to present a supporting document like police report and hoping that it would never happen and never have to fire a gun towards a anyone.

        Thanks in advance.

Depends, a few months (1-5). Can’t use SD as good cause. See some of the posts above or in this thread for a starting point.

One of the principals at Artemis has a Pre-CCW class that will answer all your questions & concerns, and possibly give you an opportunity to discuss your GC statement with a lawyer who specializes in use-of-force and CA gun law.

They have a class scheduled 1/17/2020. Another on 2/28/2020. In the past they also ran some at the CRPA office in Fullerton, but I can't find any scheduled right now.

              Precisely!

Looking for feedback on my Just Cause Letter before submitting

I've already completed my training for ccw and live scan as well. I finished writing my just cause letter but id like someone to read it over before i submit it. Is anyone available to do so?

                Thanks

List of allowed modifications for CCW approval

Wondering if anyone can share the current restriction requirements for OC. I basically would like to know, for example, if red dots, aftermarket triggers, extended mag release, stippling, is allowed for approval or does it have to be bone stock. What are the allowed mods?

I just went through the process and this is what I was told...

Red dots are only ok if your gun came optic ready from the factory.

ANY change to internals is not ok...no triggers, connectors, trigger jobs, aftermarket recoil springs, etc.

                    Stippling IS ok.

Extended mag and slide releases are NOT ok anymore, per OCSD.

Sounds about right. Try to stick to stock if possible.

Got it. Thank you. Kinda sucks because most of the models that are optic ready are not on the roster.

Sounds like you know something (or someone) we don't......

Does the new one still start on 5/7/2020?
