Your best bet is to check it on the regular basis and snatch an open spot

With the change in process to no add-ons, wondering if this also affects how many firearms can be on the license at time of initial or renewal application? When I took my class before the trainer would qualify up to 5 firearms as part of the class, and anything beyond that was an add on, which it seems is not possible right now.

If I recall correctly there was a limit in the past with the license, max 3 or 5 or something.

You may be confusing the number of firearms on the application submission with amendments to add firearms to an existing license. OCSD web page
                FIREARM MODIFICATIONS

In order to process the recent surge in new CCW applications, we will only consider amendments during the license term for the following reasons:

Change of address or legal name change
Lost or stolen license with a completion of a lost license form (download below under Related Files)
In the event a firearm malfunctions and is replaced by the manufacturer
In the event of a damaged/lost/stolen firearm, a different firearm may be added if that firearm is the only firearm listed on their license. Licensee will need to contact OCSD for approval at ccwpermits@ocsheriff.gov.

All other amendments will be processed at the time of application renewal. This is a temporary measure that will allow staff the opportunity to process the large volume of new applications in a timely manner.

2 weeks to my interview. I'm getting excited. I applied on 6-29. Interview originally scheduled for 11/30 but moved up to 9/29. I've finished everything else including the training.

Did you move it up yourself or did they call you? Congrats!

Good pm, just a quick question for those who did their renewal online class. What happens to the shooting portion? Do you still have to do it? Thanks In advance. Permission to o.p

Yes, you still need to do the shooting portion even with an online renewal. I did my renewal online and then met with the instructor at the range on the date we agreed upon for the shooting portion.

The day my firearms cleared on my livescan, they moved me from 11/30 to 9/29. I got a text and an email. I couple weeks later they texted and emailed asking for a passport photo and to re-upload my SCE bill.

mine cleared on 8/12 and date is Feb 2023 hoping for a move up date. A good note is I emailed them to add a new firearm to my app and they replied that they did.

                                This still applies correct?

IA must make a determination within 90 days of the CCW application filing or 30 days after the CADOJ clearance, whichever is later.
