I summited my CCW firearms training course last month after i got the proceed to training email on the 22nd which hopefully I'll get the call next to pick up. If I missed the call does anyone know if they leave a message or just hang up if I don't pick up the phone?

AV said it needs to be sworn personnel, they have to be trusted We saw how that’s working. Just my opinion, civilians in the Department handle and work with inmates, provide security at facilities, Records Clerks handle all the information when they are done with the CCW paperwork, there is zero reason a civilian employee can’t shuffle paperwork, make interview appointments, etc. At CalDOJ civilians process the records there, and maintain them, not anyone sworn.
It’s obvious the process is wrought with issues and runs slower than molasses on a cold winter morning. While everyone likes to blame the BoS, I blame Sheriff V just as equally. He could make changes to the process to alleviate bottlenecks, but doesn’t.

Has anyone done VIP CCW Services for training?

Josh is one of those that are very good at what he does. One would learn a lot of usable information in his class, it would cost a little bit more than the cheapest place that one can find training but, you are getting your money's worth. I know for a fact because I did my out of state ccw training with him (4 years ago) and on the other hand did my ca ccw training at one of the cheaper alternatives. No comparison.

Livescan on Doj website says completed. Is it supposed to say clear ? How long does it take for the CA and FBI portion to normally clear? Am I even searching the right website?

You should see 3 clearances for your Livescan. It will just say completed after all 3 as they process. The results are send electronically to the Agency that requested them. Usually Firearms takes the longest.

So how do I know if they cleared ?

You won’t know, if you get the call to move forward, they cleared. DOJ website will only show complete

x2. If you are curious, you can always run one on yourself, see what comes back. I would imagine you already know if you have an arrest record, party to a restraining order, or mental health issue.

Sworn LEO in LA or any local should never be but in a position where they arbitrarily and capriciously abrogate the rights of citizens. Let civilians work at CCW jobs. Cops have training and guns, put them at grammer schools and in front of liquor stores and meth squats!

I wanted to just share my time line since it finally started moving.

12/21 submitted application by mail USPS
3/21 check was cashed
9/22 received call for interview
Interviewed this past week / live scan done same day
Everything cleared on the livescan within 1-3 days
Now i wait? Anything else further i need to do? ��

make sure you have 3 good CCW guns and then go do the training.

Should i wait for them to email / call me to go training? Or are you suggesting i get it done asap regardless. TIA
