Looks like all you need is a donation to rush things along. https://www.latimes.com/california/s...Ny0YtDtHYM5i-4

In that article it said the donors could get their permits in a month. I'm not shocked but I am saddened but this.

What got me was the response to the LA Times article on Facebook.

Congratulations to the Los Angeles Times for acknowledging Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is complying with the law. Thank you for highlighting the fact only 0.7% of the 3,400 campaign contributors were granted CCW’s, after passing a rigorous background check, firearms training, and application process. In 2019, the processing time was 2-3 months, but due to current volume is now 11-13 months.

For greater transparency, please visit LASD.org/ccw.

My friends waiting for training emails pretty much lost hope after this.

I just sent the article to the 2 in my signature. They are beside themselves. They want to know if the 11-14 is with or without campaign contributions.

Sheriff AV is on Facebook live. You have to request to join which is new. From the campaign hq. Was quick, he did not answer any ccw questions asked in chat about staffing for unit.

A donor who was assisted by Gisel Del Real, one of the deputies now under investigation, wrote on his permit application that he
needed to be armed because he and his boss “hike to remote areas like in the high mountains to meditate with nature where there is no law enforcement readily available.”
                            What a ****ing joke.

If I wasn’t already waiting for the “proceed to training” email, I would be thinking about about applying with Gardena PD. In a post-Bruen USA, this wait time is absurd.
