Thanks. That knocks USCCA off my list. I can't imagine the agony of having to choose between rolling the dice on a manslaughter charge to keep my insurance rather than plead guilty to some tiny infraction such as firing a gun inside city limits or a noise ordinance.

What is the firearm livescan? I thought the livescan was a background check for the applicant not the firearm, am I missing something here?

I've been wondering the same when I was reading that on multiple posts.

To the best of my understanding it is the background check to determine if you are eligible for firearms. I imagine it looks at criminal records in all states and federally, restraining orders, psych commitments, etc. Can anybody with firm knowledge confirm or correct this?

My GC in my application was basically self-defense as I work in a fairly unsafe area, especially in the evenings, however, a deputy actually called me before I was scheduled for the interview and told me straight up that that wasn't a good enough GC.
The deputy then asked a few questions about my work and, long story short, told me my best chance is to have my boss write and sign an official letter on company letterhead about me carrying company proprietary data (which is true). Seems like that was sufficient as GC.

Just coming to me, but realizing that if there were approx. 500 permits issued in LA County pre-policy shift, and Sheriff V's stated goal was to increase the number of permits by 400%, that would suggest his goal was to get approx. 2000 permits issued in the county. With 2367 permits now having been issued, it seems the "goal" has been met. Not claiming this has anything to do with the wave of LG denials these past couple weeks, but if the ultimate goal was to cap issuance at about 2000 permits, the variance in approvals does relatively track.

                        This would be correct.

Have you seen anyone here post that they were not instructed to proceed with Livescan after their interview? I would feel ripped off if I had to pay over $100 for Livescan and then get denied later, even though your record is clean.
