Been away from this thread for several months and haven't had a chance to read up on the current situation.

Just received a denial letter today.

          Submitted in March.
          Check cashed in April
          Interviewed in July
Received call in beginning of November from Deputy re Good Cause
          Denial Letter in December

GC was LG and I was clearly in the maybe pile. I thought it was well written based on information available in March 2021. They really wanted me to have a work related GC. Deputy also mentioned the SCOTUS case to me and how this might all be moot. Regardless, if anything changes, I'm back at the end of the line. Good luck to those still waiting.

            Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if there are any photographers on here that have successfully gotten a permit? My work usually has me around the Hollywood and DTLA areas where there has been a huge increase in armed robberies. I carry around $8K-$10K worth of stuff on a normal shoot, so this makes me a big target for thieves -- especially these areas. Clients are also spooked, as sometimes we have a lot of very expensive clothing and jewelry on hand, among other things. Least to say, all of this has been bad for business.

I've been wanting to apply for a while now, but I'm not sure if this is a worthy GC statement. I currently have a day job where i work from home, so photography is not my primary means of employment at the moment. And from what I've been reading, it seems like this would be considered a light green GC, and light green GC statements are currently a no-go.

            Anyone here have any advice?

Huh it seemed like they'd be issuing to yellow and above.

I think you have a good shot. I think this counts as business related rather than recreational as long as it is a money making endeavor, regardless of whether it is your primary occupation or not.
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

The more time I spend on this forum, the more sense kcbrown makes.
