Regarding SB 918, here is what today's Assembly Daily File says
Aug. 3—August 3 set for first hearing. Placed on suspense file.
Aug. 11—From committee: Do pass as amended. (Ayes 12. Noes 4.)

So the Senate is doing their 2nd read of the Bill and it'll need 41 votes in the Assembly to pass.

update from a friend. 1 year from submission to pick up. submitted aug 2021. interview was about 9 months after submission.

standard approval email came. pick up call came on week 4 for that week.

SB918 has now passed the senate and is on the way to the Assembly. The CA state Assembly has 80 members. They need 41 votes to pass. Easily obtained unfortunately as there are on 19 Republicans in the assembly.

Sorry but had to laugh my *** off at that one. Currently over 16000 apps in the system and 12 deputies to do the work. Not including the 3-4 month wait for Cal DOJ.

Nice to be back on here after a break!

I was reading SB918, basically can't carry anywhere. It looks from the wording that we won't even be able to carry a loaded firearm in our cars while driving. Basically the same as an unpermitted person. Is this was everyone else is getting out of the wording?

That's what I understood too. Any victory we get, California always finds a way to screw us over. It's frustrating.
