I dropped off my application at local station on 7/29 and check was cashed 8/3 with local station's signature on backside. Unsure if that's a good thing or bad thing.

I'm in the same boat as you two. Mailed in on 6/24. Delivered by USPS to the LASD PO Box on 6/28 12:48PM. Still not cashed. I imagine it's going to be a while for them to open all the mailed in applications at their CCW unit.

I applied for my first CCW with LASD and sent it in the mail on 8/5/2022 but I saw this on the lasd website

“EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2022

The LASD will only accept first-time CCW applications from those who reside within our contract cities or unincorporated communities and encourage applicants residing in a municipality other than those served by the LASD to contact their local police chief and apply for a CCW license.

All first-time CCW applications submitted, received, or postmarked before the indicated date; the LASD will accept and continue to process.”

What does this mean? Will they even consider my application? I bought my money order before august.

Damn, that’s harsh to those whose city does not isssue.
