Like I said in my previous post. The point of conceal carry is so no one knows you're carrying.


@ProRoad yes sir. I have 2 kids ( 4 and 1) so my choice is very simple. But like I said everyone should assess there situations. And make their own decisions!


And something to think about. How often do you really even have police contact ?
And how will anyone you know you have it if you conceal properly?

My Live Scan Cleared Now What?

Several have posted in the last few pages that their Live Scans have cleared. Do not expect anything to happen quickly.

Remember on the Live Scan application there was at the beginning a mailing address for the LASD CCW Unit?

Yes, that means they don’t follow it online like you do with your ATI number. The LASD generally waits for the CA DOJ to get around to printing your results and sending them by snail mail to the CCW Unit which then has to open the mail, find your application and bring it up to date.

Most likely that means moving it from one pile to the bottom of the next pile. Be prepared to wait. I waited from 9/11/21 when my Live Scan completed online to receiving the proceed to training email 11/17/21.

The worst part is those that did everything they were told to, will be told instead of picking up you need to start over. Hopefully one of the Gun Advocates will be able to get an injunction.

I would hope applications submitted already will continue uninterrupted by SB918. But once issued what does it matter as SB918 literally makes a CA CCW just about useless.

The good news is that I expect a injunction within a few weeks.

I would not assume that. It seems to me that the instant Gruesome signs, the law is changed. Additional requirements in place that those "in process" will not have been met.

I would further expect that those not living in open county or contract cities would be expected to re-start with their local PDs.

In New York, that's the way they handled it: any permits not already issued by their Sept 1 effective date were on freeze for a minimum of 6 months until new paperwork and procedures could be established.

That's why the judge hearing Antonyok did not allow New York to drag things out...he wanted to be able to rule prior to Sept 1

So you called CCW processing and they told you the processing will come to a halt? Or is this you guessing it will come to a halt?

That's the way I see it. Those waiting for pickup as well as everybody else who has applied over the past year or so.

As well as everyone who already has one and will have nowhere to use it.
