I don't know if sharing your instagram page is a good idea.

I would present it as "I travel to remote areas of the state to participate in shooting events. So remote the emergency response would take 30-45 minutes, I'm often carrying equipment worth up to $5,000/$10,000/etc in firearms, ammo, and accessories by myself."

Something a long those lines.

OK fellas. I'm late to this party. It seems that LASD is issuing CCW based on reading some of the more recent posts. Here is what I understand so far:

1. You need to apply with LAPD first and get denied.
2. Then apply with the LASD.

Is this correct?

As far as good cause... I'm a photographer and often go out to shoot in the early morning or late evening with $1000s in camera equipment. Anyone know if this would be adequate?

Oh. I saw mentioned competitive shooting. Does this help? I shoot USPSA. Have for 3 years now.

You should have a solid chance with LASD with those GCs and use them both.

Treat LAPD app seriously even though you’ll most likely be denied.

Read over my CCW Application Advice thread pinned at the top of this forum. I’d also suggest reading the posts since mid Dec.

Take the process seriously. We’re not Shall Issue.

You apply with LAPD first only if your residence is under their jurisdiction.

I will try my best. I will take this process very serious.

I was reading some of the considerations and I tick off a lot of them. Sounds like I stand a good chance. I have no criminal history. No history of mental illness. Zero drug history. Stable... I've lived in my home for 18 years. Been with my employer for 23 years. I haven't had an accident or even a ticket in a couple of decades at least. As mentioned I shoot competitively but I also am an NRA certified RSO which I did voluntarily.

You guys have given me some hope.
