This is outstanding news the Sheriff AV has started to increase his issuance of LTC's, however having to get denied by LAPD first is incredibly lame. How would we go about changing this? And the libtards whine about showing ID to vote....

I am still tempted to apply, however IIRC a Kaliforniastan LTC is still public information? In this era of cancel culture, doxing, etc. I don't want to be published by anyone, especially antifa, Burn Loot Murder, etc. as being an LTC holder...

A cautionary tale: Last week, on Monday, I received a call from the CCW unit, telling me I could come pick up my certificate on Friday. One of my dogs was sick and my wife needed the car that day, so I asked when I could come the following week. I was given a phone number and told to call the following Monday to reschedule. I called repeatedly Monday and Tuesday, finally called the deputy who did my interview. He told me that after Monday last week they were inundated with applications and scheduling and that I would now be at the bottom of the pile. He admonished me to take whatever date they offered. At least my dog is better now. If you get that call, don't reschedule your pickup unless, as in my case, you have more important reasons for delay.

Anxiously waiting to get the call to do the training. How long does that firearm portion take? See below from, copied from the DOJ website under my livescan number

You don't have to wait to do the training. I didn't.

In the event of your background check uncovering an issue leading to a denial, you would have just wasted the time and $$$ for the training. It was worth it for me to take that small risk.

Just wanted to give an update. I had an interview today. It was very short. I was approved for livescan and the deputy told me to do training at the same time if I want. I asked what the determining factor was and he said for me it was because I was a business owner in a high crime area. His message was clear that everyone should apply because they are giving them out pretty freely. From the day my application was mailed to the interview day was 14 days.

That is a great LASD timeline. The problem is LAPD’s capacity to process has blown up as I documented earlier this page. Why does LASD require an LAPD denial letter first if it just delays the process where the civilian has a chance?

Is this required by law or simply by policy?

This is what I want to know, surely LAPD has better use of their manpower than processing LTC applications and conducting interviews to simply rubber stamp all as denials.....

More evidence AV has further liberalized GC to at least Light Green, beyond personal threats, business ownership or employment risks.

I explained in a previous post in the past few pages why LASD requires a denial from LAPD before processing your app. If you won’t spend the time reading previous post I won’t spend my time repeating myself or tracking it down for you.
