Today AV said they have 2400(if I remember correctly) applicants pending so bare with them guys n gals. I received mine not too long ago. I took my class with aegis authority and they were awesome. 3 nights 6pm-9pm on zoom and 1 day at the range which I was in and out. Have patience everyone. they are doing their best to process everything. Also, if you put self defense or 2nd amendment as your GC expect to be denied. You need to explain why you need it. Paint the picture. If you have supporting documentation bring that to the interview. Trust me, it helps.

                  Quote from their website, again.

The course for new applicants will be $350 as both days are required.

But they don't say it is them that requires it. The implication is that they are alluding to LASD and OCS "requiring" it.

By them requiring 16 hrs rather than the 8 hrs allowed. I find that disingenuous and deceptive.

                  And as far as my suggestion that members check all local trainers for THEIR requirements. Also from TRB as an example only;

EQUIPMENT NECESSARY FOR ALL STUDENTS: (You may purchase holsters and gear items from us on the day of the course if necessary)

All firearms you wish to put on your CCW (You may NOT rent a firearm from the range if needed)
One holsterMagazine holster capable of holding at least two magazines
Three magazines for your primary firearm
If you have a revolver, please have at least one or two speed loaders as well.
                  Sturdy belt
150 rounds of ammunition for your primary firearm and 20 rounds for any additional firearms you wish to put on your CCW (NO STEEL CASED AMMO) You may purchase ammo at FT3.
                  Eye and ear protection
Note taking gear like notebook, pen etc.
Some trainers requirements far exceed actual LASD guideline, as evidence the underlined above.

So i sent my application and check exactly a month ago. Money hasn't left my account and no call yet. What's the "typical" response time some have encountered?

Edit: After posting, i read the comment above. Any other examples?

Has anyone with green or light green GC successfully get a CCW? (I just figured the color code btw)

I think my GC is yellow or red.

Did my training with Aegis. Well worth the money spent. It was convenient being on zoom and was extremely informative with respect to the level of responsibility a CCW permit holder has. Provided a lot of real world scenarios, how to handle situations post shoot, and very willing to answer the full spectrum of questions from the folks in my class.

This puts my "the watch commander at ELA probably trashed my application and never sent to hall of justice" thoughts somewhat at ease. Been waiting since 3/17 for a call. Mind if you share what station you dropped it off at?
