No, you don't have to. Just keep the paper for your record. When the lives can complete, the DOJ will send your info to the CCW unit.

That’s the LA Sheriff’s Building - Sherman Block Bldg. That’s also the place where they will invite you back for pick-up. Look at it via Google Maps, satellite view for a clear picture.

So after my application fee was cashed (maybe 45-60 days?), I waited about another month or two. I then emailed the CCW department and simply asked, "I mailed by app on 5/4 and it was cashed on ____. I just wanted to make sure my application is still in the process and has not been denied."

Something very simple. I got the email or call to set up interview within a week or so. Then things started happening every couple weeks.

I have already had my interview, sorry for being vague. I submitted my app a day before you and am still waiting for my training email.

Bring comfy shoes - it's a little hike downhill and uphill from where you'll be parking.

I applied the same month as you and I'm still waiting as well. I'm also a Realtor and that was part of my GC along with being a landlord. I recently received a call but it was so I can send an updated DL. I figured this is all new to LA County and I have no other choice than to sit tight and hope for the best.

I'm filling out the application and it looks like I have to list the weapons I'd like to CC. Is it easy to amend this section later? I ask because I don't have a CC weapon yet, just a G17 for home defense, but if I was to get my permit I'd likely pick up a G26. Do I need to buy the G26 before submitting the application, or can I just list the G17, submit the application, hopefully get approved, then buy the G26 and update/amend the application? I don't want to spend the money on a G26 if I'm not going to get my application approved (to be honest my cause is related to recreation/fishing/camping where I'm often alone...so I'm not very confident it will be granted in the first place).

I believe you can start the application with the G17 as long as it is registered to you. You will need any additional guns in your possession at the time of your training class as they will need to be listed on your training certificate by S/N and caliber. You will not be able to add anything after that point until you renew after 2 years. You should qualify with your G17 and get it on your permit as well as your primary CCW in case there is a malfunction/ repair on your primary or in case, God forbid, you actually have a defensive shooting in which case your gun will be taken from your for evidence and you may not get it back for months or years.
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

The more time I spend on this forum, the more sense kcbrown makes.

You can submit the application with the G17 and get the G26 later. You can add/remove weapons as long as you haven't submitted the training docs to the CCW Unit. So basically you can submit your application now and buy the G26 when you get an email from the CCW Unit to proceed with training. It's going to take at lest 8 months so you have plenty of time.
That said, they are not approving recreation good cause applications (according to my interviewing deputy) but give it a try regardless.
